Default Need a new printer

Time for me to get a new inkjet printer I think.

Inkjets seem to print a much better quality than they used to.

Any recommendations? Anyone have a particular model they're impressed with?

I like the HP psc all in ones... I have the 2210 which isn't sold anymore I think they're all the way up to the 5000 series :) Great scanner / fax / printer / copier... and about 150$ not bad...

As always thanks for the .02 NeO.

I'll have to check that one out.

Printer got low on ink, been refilling the cartridges awhile myself with those refill kits. But they've seen better days, so you know inkjet cartridges. One can almost buy a new printer for the same price as getting new cartridges. (Not as pricey as laser though, gotta admit)

the inkjet printer industry does the exact same as the shaving razor industry - charge next to nothing for the primary device but charge out the yin-yang for refills. it's a nice gig if you can get it, i guess.

I haven't seen the article... but I heard on Webmaster radio... that one of the HP ex-employees said that there were counters in the printers so that when you've printed xx,xxx amount of pages... it shuts down with some odd ball error message, so that it's just as expensive to get it fixed as it is to buy a new one...

I've used those refill kits too... but then I got ink all over everything (looked like a 3rd grader was doing a paint project) now I just go to Staples... they give me $3.00 for each cartridge I bring back in...hey it's something :D

Those inks also work great for tye-dye t-shirts.

We use the HP 2410 Photosmart all-in-one scanner, printer, copier and fax. It also has card readers on the front - handy when a client has digital photos on a SmartCard.

MarcieZoobazooobazoob! How ya been anyway. Almost didn't recognize ya in the new pic.

You know that's a cool idea. I'm not really in the web design biz anymore, except for non-profit charity work (donated). But I do a heck of a lot of graphic design in my biz so maybe I should go for the printing from the smart card thing.

Just curious, can it also save images to the hard drive -- through plugging in the smart card to the printer -- or is that mainly for printing off a quick pic straight from the camera? Probably a dumb question, I've just never used one.

Does Lintronic still exist? They were the "Rolls Royce" and produced high book quality years ago. May be not ink jet printer.

My cheap Hp with scanner is more than good enough for me.

Tell me which printer you use, and I will tell you who you are LOL

Hey jawn_tech, long time no type! We use the SmartCard reader on the HP2410 for moving photos to our computer hard drives. It's pretty slick! I didn't see the 2410 on the HP website but the 6310 is a very similar model.
