Default Site Content Being Copied

Hi All,

This might not be the proper place topost this, if it is not then I apologise! I am hoping someone might help me out.

I am finding that my site content (incl. META tag info) is being copied onto another site. I have emailed the site owner who told me "lowe's and home depot sell the same items" **URGH** While that may be true, each store PAYS for the items they sell!

I have composed a letter to send to the web hosting/domain provider and have outlined the various infringements.

My question is this - Is this the best way to have get someone to force the site to stop the infringement?

Thanks so much!
Maggie

Thank you for that thread link! I have a very lengthy copyright notice on footers as well as the privacy/policy page.

I suppose then that I should send the notice to the hosting provider and the domain provider since I have received a basic middle-finger up from the website owner!

I guess you should not worry about your Meta being copied. Google does not give to much important about meta anymore.

My website ranking when doing a search is based on the META <description> tag info so I'm not too sure if that is entirely correct. I know META keywords don't mean squat anymore.

My point and utter shock was that the website owner had the you-know-whats to completely and verbatim copy my META description tag - How rude is that?

Again, thanks so much for the responses. This has been really annoying me because it's just so darn rude!!

Yeah, Meta tags don't hold any weight, but meta title information is useful to the search engine. A small percentage of total weight perhaps, but adds to the sum total.
