Default Pop up blocking

Can anyone recomend a good free pop up blocker. Those adds are driving one of my clients nuts and he can't seem to find one that works.

I also run POP THIS! for IE. Nothing wrong with two popup blockers, PopThis! is weightless.

And get SPYBOT S & D and do a good cleaning!

This is a great page I found, it has a scan for spyware - that also links to a Oakely-doakely site for info on that stuff.
http://factor1.net/external/dnld.html
Spybot, when you install it, click the 'Check for updates'
Then unclick the "Languages" download part, then look right where it asks you to download updates, there is little 'dropdown box - select another site to download from! The first one bites.

Then 'Check for problems', it won't be able to 'Fix all the selected problens, do you want to run ... at next startup...= YES.

Then when all that is done, check for protections, Immunize, select 'notify me when blocking downloads (You will see just how many sites try to download crap without you being aware).
I love that option, I was shocked !

Finally, lock the 'Internet Options' from being accessed from inside IE, it stops browser highjackers from changing your home page to "http:/www.pornXXXXXX.com/I_just_put_script_in your computer/haha.html?=7^%02$?"

Just don't read the last two lines here, I am on sleep deprivation research and ..what werewe talking about...

Hi Mik,

I took your tip on SpyBot Search & Destroy (when you mentioned it in another thread) and I must say it's an excellent program. You really don't realise the amount of stuff that's thrown at you in the name of spyware!

Returning to popup blockers... I also use a combination of things... Mozilla Firebird has the utility built in so that's cool.. and my Zone Alarm Pro firewall automatically blocks popups... only opening requested new windows.

Paul

I have gotten rights to distribute a popup blocker from panicware, spybot search and destroy and many many other cool software. I am now an authorized download partner to many major software developers.

Do get them from http://ejrs.com/converters Do tell your friends about this site. I have a Tell a friend link which sends an email to your friends to check out http://ejrs.com/converters so please do use that feature.

I use Spybot S&D, http://www.safer-networking.org/, in conjunction with Ad aware, http://www.lavasoftusa.com. The Yahoo toolbar is basically the googlebar but yahooified. MSN has a toolbar coming out as well that links in with hotmail and msn messenger.
I have installed googlebar for IE since my girlfriend uses IE but I'll stick with using my Firebird. No need for extra software wasting memory then.

If you really like IE and don't fancy a toolbar then there are so called browser that are actually just wrappers for the IE rendering engine. Avant browser is one as is MyIE2.
