Whose Internet is it, anyway?
Big providers such as AT&T and Verizon are opposing legislation that would ban Internet service providers from setting up special "fast lane" higher-priced services or from blocking, degrading, altering, modifying, or changing the Internet traffic they handle. Legislation is a crudely masked net that Mr. Market has to fit to.
Should it be rudely or any better English word? I am lucky that understands Danish, Bjarne Strostrup (C++), Anders Hejsberg (C#), Norwegian (Simula and the son Beta) Swedish (Skype and Kaza)? But why worry when there are so many automatic translation services like Babel Fish, Systran, Tramslation Experts and not to forget Google language tools.. IT personell are not the best on language skills and writing, so some translations that my son and me tested from Chinese to English were good enoug and good enough is best. So translating this site to good enough English should be no problem and done in seconds. My friend that is developing this excellent Norwegian law site asked me if I had taken over the internet when he first saw DigitalPunkt (DigitalPoint in English). How bad is my English? Should I concentrate on writing in Norwegian and leave it to the automatic translation services to translate it to better English? |
