Default I am ruined

Today I turn 30! My youth is finished :(

Yesterday my age started with a 2. Today it starts with a 3. That's a WHOLE decade difference.

There are {{20 years}} between the start of 20's and the end of 30's

I will be FORTY in nine + years! But I was 25 only five years ago.

It seems like a couple of years ago to me, that I was 10. I am going to be 45 in only 15 years!

I am in a crisis! I can't handle it.

30 is a terrible age. I'm finished. I'm over. I'm ruined..

Solution:

I am 25! We'll that's what I'm going to tell everyone from now on. Or maybe 23.. depending on the lighting and the situation at the time.

I feel better now :)

30 is prime. You are still a baby. Why is youth wasted on the young? If only I had known then what I do now!

LOL

Mate, I am actually starting to understand what that means. That the youth is wasted on the young.

Really, that is one of the most incredible injustices of life on planet earth.

Ok, I admit.. 30 is still "kinda" on the young side of things. But mate, it's also "kinda" on the getting old side of things too.

I'm looking at 40 next, and no one can say 40 is young. Even someone who's 60 wouldn't consider 40 young. They might "wish" they were 40 again, but nevertheless once you hit 40 it's all down hill.

Oh well, I suppose it's better to be over the hill than under it. Maybe I am on top of the hill now. But my point is, for the first time in my life I am looking down the other side. I didn't want to see that :(

Apparently 40 is "middle aged", but I think that's pushing it.. wishful thinking.

I much prefer being 31 than 21 anyday. 21 was horrible.

Would I be able to say the same at 41? Don't know, we'll see.

I don't actually mind being "30" as such. I mean physically, I am rather healthy. I'm stronger than I have have ever been.

I've put weight on since I was 20, which is probably more attractive, except for the extra bit on my belly - lol.

I am much smarter than I was when I was 20. I am more confident, and things don't confuse me nearly half as much. I am more enabled to calculate situations, because I have more of a past to compare outcomes with.

So all in all, being 30 is not so bad. I just don't want to get any older. I think I've aged enough.

Actually, I think people 'start' going a bit silly (senile?) once they're in their late 30's and it only gets worse from there. The brain slows down with the rest of the body.

I would be quite comfortable living for the rest of eternity with my current physical appearance and mental abilities.

you seem to be worrying too much about it. enjoy the ride, it's easier that way. i've also noticed that even though i'm almost 35, my mind is as young and active as it ever was, if not more so.

don't fight it.

Stop worrying about numbers :) A number doesn't tell anything about 'how old you are'. ;)

:-) :-)

I ordered 9 new .no domains some days ago, but I think my young hosters are extremely slow to agree on changing the DNS settings.

Or they make it difficult for me in order to slow me down.

When your are 95, and are implementing 2 new domains, you are in a hurry man. "Time is scarce."

Exactly. I have friends who are 20-something and act more mature than my gran and forty year old friends who act like big kids.

I opt for being a big kid, even if my brains not up to it. :)

Exactly. Older people can be really immature. When I was a kid, I looked up to adults immensely. I thought that they had the answers for everything. If one didn't know, another one would.

But I became an adult myself, and at about 20 I realized that the world is full of 20 year old 40 year olds. So I started to lose faith in the usefulness of other people's knowledge and asking questions and I started figuring stuff out for myself, instead.

I noticed that there were too many so called mature adults that didn't seem to know much more, or act any more responsibly, or know how to deal with difficult situations than myself and I was much younger.

I distinctly remember saying to people over and over again: "I'm not going to become another 20 year old 40 year old". I guess I was just hinting that I considered them to have lost the plot, which is kind of rude I suppose. But since that time I have taken great effort to improve and to advance, in any way that I can.

On the other hand, when I was about 10 I made a promise to myself to NEVER forget what it's like to be a kid. So sometimes, you'll see my 10yo alter ego - lol. In my somewhat bias opinion, I was a pretty smart kid. I knew and understood much more than "the adults" would give me credit for. That really started to get on my nerves by the time I was a teen, so I acted up a bit during that age. Mainly contradicting teachers and purposefully showing disinterest in classes, etc.. But I grew out of that by the time I left school at 16, left home and started work.

I'm about 1/2 to 40 way now, and I am much more adjusted in many areas than I was when I was 20. I just hope when I'm 40, I will be considered wise and useful by 20 year olds, instead of being just another old fart that has never been able to get a grip.

I know one thing. In life you really have to protect your own free thinking and ability to consider things. Because if you start following the crowd, by the time you get older, you will have become complacent, misinformed, vague and less understanding of other people. This is probably a big reason why older people make out they can't get along with younger people. Somehow they think they're so far advanced that the younger person just "wouldn't understand".

I remember being younger, and I saw through this, but was confused with whether I was just being a know all, or whether I was really onto something. Now that I am older, I honestly feel that I was on to something. Sometimes older people can be really dumb. And it's worse when "stupid" older people try to use their "age" to back their opinions, even though they've been so complacent during their life that they don't actually have much more life experience. Like I said: complacent, misinformed, vague.

Good post above. Write a book.

I learn very much from my children, especially my son at 20 that is studying psychology. We can talk from evening to morning.

We both love outdoor life and fishing.

I think, if you write a book, it may become a bestseller.
