Default New Years Resolutions

Do you all have any? Mine, like every year it seems, is to do something about my cigarette smoking. Of course, I always seem to lose this battle... Finding a a female companion is acceptable as well (don't laugh).

Let us know what you plan on addressing about yourself in the coming year.

- Pay off final debts from 2004 (will be done next month probably)

- Back in school in May

- Supplement my full-time job's income into a savings account to use towards a new home in 07.

- Lose my fat and replace it with muscle (stopped going to the gym when I got sick last month)

- No traffic tickets.

Mine is:
  • 2 hours or less per day in front of the TV (for the kiddies not just me).
Keep in touch with friends and family more (even if its just getting a list of their birthdays so I send them a card on time)
    Work smarter, not harder.
Go to the gym 3 times a week (once I am rid of this cold)
Expand further knowledge (namely PHP and Flash).
Have a couple of fruit plants/bushes in garden.

I must be mad, but I line out a set of goals like this every year. Sometimes it works and sometimes it don't.

One thing I know I'll accomplish next year and thats being an Auntie for the 4th time :).

I'm with Debbie on "Working smarter, not harder"...
add to that learning more PHP and breaking 100 for a round of golf.

1. Reduce the number sites I manage by 50%
2. Rely more on print advertising and less on email.
3. Do more SEO myself and stop wasting money.
4. Rely less on search engines.

The rest of my life is fine, its only when I get in front of a computer that I get stressed :-)

Happy New Year.

New Years resolutions? HA! Gave them up years ago along with NOT giving up smoking. I like to smoke. Always just wanted to give up because of the "bugging". So, to all the "bugs' out there... maybe ya'll ought to quit, lol.

However, for all of you who do have New Years resolutions...

I wish you the best of luck, will power and stamina to succeed.

A Happy New Year to all!

Finding a a female companion is acceptable as well (don't laugh).

Is that a problem for you in the USA? Look the lady you like in her eyes, smile and talk to her ...

Dance man (not so much with wolves in the IT-world). More with women.

Misunderstood as usual, since I have no plans, what happens ...

Be a better father?

To the smokers -- if you can't (or don't want to) quit, be sure to smoke in moderation. There was research five or six years ago (reported in reputable journals) that smoking can reduce the risks of alzheimers, so smoking in moderation isn't all that bad. As for me, I have reached an age where, theoretically, I should take up smoking but that will not be my resolution. We should all resolve to be more accepting of others, even with their "faults."

Happy New Year to all!

I do not think I need to make any new years resolution, I am pretty well perfect. I smoke Yes. . But that helps to keep the lonely widows away (Just blow smoke in their face when the get close)

Its hard to think of a good resoultion when you are close to perfection. . Maybe I should resolve to be less humble next year..

Default How e-business professionals help

First off, Happy New Year to all who grace the forums with their presence by their writings or visits.

Talking of new year resolutions, most of us are most likely to think about what we can do for ourselves in the year 2006. Let us also think about what we can do for others who need our help to improve the quality of their lives around the world.

As e-business professionals, we should be able to do something for the people who can rise above their present levels by acquiring knowledge and applying it, individually and collectively.

So, I would suggest our resolutions for the new year should include the following resolution: To help people raise their level of awareness, knowledge and experience of I.T.-enabled resources to help them improve their lot in the year 2006, anywhere and every where.

Get the inflatable kind. They don't talk back. ;)

Seriously, I'm not one for setting New Year's goals, but my major one is one I'm already working on...streamlining some aspects of my business (mostly cost-related...eliminating some ongoing bills, etc.)

Other things I want to do are work on some private sideline projects and keep getting better at this design biatch.

1) Get off my butt.
Twenty four years of learning "how to program" from basic through C, C++ and php and doing bugger all with this knowledge. No more "learning" projects as I have been told again and again its time to put this to good use. Hrrm, where to start?

2) Quit smoking, I love to smoke, I hate reformed smokers but I really really would love to be amongst the ranks of the reformed.

3) Cut down on caffeine, 20 cups of coffee and 3 litres of coca cola per day is a little much methinks.

4) Not to make new years resolutions I know I will never keep. Damnit I like things the way they are, took me 40 years to get here.

Wheres that pdf I had on the xen hyper visor technology, my marlboro reds and the caffeine.

ps, Happy New Year to you all.

Losing weight was my sole aim last year. I lost 1 1/2 stone and the gym is my 2nd home.

It can be done believe me :) You just need to plan what your strategy is going to be (like any plan really).

burf.com looks great. I may take you up on your offer when I update my current website (which lets face it - badly needs a facelift).

Thats if its still standing by then ?? ;)

Well, having the kids spend 2 hours maximum in front of the TV is a nightmare to say the least.

Especially when school holidays don't start until next week (*head pulsates with stress).

Hows the rest of the resolutions going?

Sorry I just read my post and realised my error: "School TERM doesn't start until next week" Oops.

Weedy Lady: Well done. 3 out of 5 days still takes a lot of commitment. The 1st week back after Christmas is always the worst IMHO. It can only get easier. :)
