Default I got Googled today.

I got this white box with red, blue, green and yellow dots on the sides at work today. It was addressed to me, didn't tick, so I started to open it. It said "From your friends at Google" on the front.

As I opened it, the guys next to me were looking over my shoulder, eager to see what was inside. The box opened and a red leather case with Google imprinted was revealed. I immediately heard a cry of "Cool, a day planner", which had me smiling.

As I slowly unzipped the case, eagerly anticipating all the goodies and my new organizing abilities, I was shocked to see there was no paper inside. In fact, there wasn't a calculator or any sort of planner accessories inside. What I saw instead was so much better, but I didn't know it yet.

The first thing I was looking at was some sort of odd tube wrapped around a few times. I looked a bit closer and noticed a USB plug on one end. I found the other end and realized it was an LED light for my laptop. Excellent! It even had the Google logo on the head.

I quickly turned my attention to the other side of the case. I immediately knew that these goodies would compliment my laptop very well.

There was a mini-optical mouse with retractable cord and a Google logo on top of it. There was a USB flash drive with the Google logo. And, since laptops don't usually have many, there was a 4 port USB 2.0 hub with the Google logo printed on it.

So, now that I've got my laptop all Googled up (thank you Google, and a very merry Christmas to you as well), I'm excited to go to my next conference. I'll have some sweet goodies to take with me. No more off-brand flash drives for me. I got Googled.

Brian.

Default Wish I knew...

I wish I knew how I got on their holiday list. I'd like to try to get more next year. I don't know if it is related to AdWords spend, buying a Google Mini, or just going and playing at their house in August.

Whatever the case, I hope it continues. A copy of the algo (the heart of Google) would be great for Valentines day. :-)

I think it's for the high spends and high earners on adwords and adsense.

Way to go Brian. Sounds like you got a nice x-mas package. Now to get some of the WPW members on their mailing list. Hint, hint, hint!

Hey, don't talk about my package like that! Oh, I mean yes, it was cool.

I don't know for certain how I got on the list, but I want on it again. One for work, one for home. ;-)

Google has the coolest toys. This goes great with my Google blinking keychain, Google yo-yo, multiple Google shirts, Google glowing beer stein and all the Google employee business cards. I'm collecting those like trading cards now.

Brian.

Is that why our pictures are 50x60 pixels, Marcie? ;-)
