Have you looked into the new PDA Phones?

PDA phones are rather pricey. I don't think that'll fit into that range.
Connect to the web wireless is a trick. I added a CF card to mine for that (802.11) and it works well. It also leaves my SD slot open for memory. A co-worker got a Toshiba unit that had 802.11 built in for about that much from eBay. I don't think there are any new ones worth using for that price. Brian.

Last time I checked, they were still around $400 with a multi-year contract and having to pay for a data plan on top of the voice plan.

Wow. That is expansive. Only to have deep pockets! Thanks

Try T-Mobile for a Blackberry. I paid $29 (I think) for mine with a one-year contract. It has every feature you could want from a PDA and its a phone. One less thing to put in your pocket.

Get them the PDA with this added that they have to pay for net use. Or offer to pay for one year and they have to either renew it themselves or not.
