Apparently, there's a new way to advertising your DOT COM website. It's now called "Bumvertising".
I haven't heard of BumVertising, but apparently it's really paying off for one dot com in Seattle. Are you going to try BumVertising in your city?

I love the idea! I just hope they don't get taken advantage of.

I used to work with homeless guys when I worked at a City Mission many years ago. Begging was actually more referred to as 'pan handling' on the streets in these parts.
Hmm, interesting marketing idea. Although a homeless guy holding a poker site sign -- I would have thought it wouldn't have worked, thinking some might think that's how the poor guy lost his shirt, in poker. But overall, I can definitely see how it's effective advertising. Takes a sad situation and creates opportunity, all the while kind of funny. Kind of a crazy, out of the box idea. I'll definitely be thinking more about this one.... lol

Just the same.. it could really have a negitive impact on the company.
Now, what I would suggest is that we as webmasters setup aff accounts for all of them and they could then make some monies and get off the streets. But, it's an idea that could work and benefit both parties involved. Wow, I think I've had way too much java this morning!

This might be for the big cities only. I don't know if it would work in my area. I don't see to many bums around. Most of the time they are just crossing the street in order to go down another street. I would think that a church would try to help this person out and have they throw away your sign. But than again, I might just have to look into this. :)

I guess it's no more morally ambiguous than tobacco's life long pursuit of young smokers. As late as the 1990's RJR was one of the largest sponsors of "block parties" and "beach nites" at any bar with a young crowd.
They paid teenagers (yes, over 18) to hand out tens-of-thousands of 5- and 10-packs of cigarettes outside the establishments - to avoid the fact that most inside were 21 or over - effectively recruiting new smokers. Sure, the teenagers made a few bucks and everyone loved the t-shirts, but........
