Unfortunately, I have to shut my e-commerce site down, and I would like some input as to how to go about doing this.
Is it simply a matter of deleting the files on my host and cancelling my accounts, or is there something else I should know? Do I need to contact my registrar or do anything else? I want to be able to use my domain name sometime in the future. Thanks! Michael |

If you don't have customers who would like to be able to contact you then just cancle your hosting plan where ever you have it and it is done. Your site is dead.
As long as you pay the yearly renewal fee for your domain, you have it and you can start using it any time you like.

I would leave a page up for about a month indicating that the site has been stopped and that if existing customers need to contact you, they can call XXX number or email XXX.
Other than that, delete all files. After 1 month, cancel hosting outright.
