Its hard to compare actors/actresses from different generations so I will pick my favourites from these.

Golden Oldies.
Robert Mitchum - Katherine Hepburn

Oldies.
Robert De Niro - Jessica Lange.

Young Guns.
Edward Norton - Charlize Theron.

The Golden Oldies and Oldies work say enough for them without me adding my thoughts.

I think Edward Norton stands head and shoulders above todays character actors and Charlize Theron was outstanding in Monster, I can't wait to see what she does next.

Golden Oldies.
John Wayne - Maureen O'Hara (Spelling?)

Oldies.
Mel Gibson - Sandra Bullock (not really "old", but not "new" either)

Young Guns.
Matt Damon - Kate Hudson.

it's got to be steve buscemi especially in armagedon and con air
and Brittany murphy in freeway and uptown girls
both have a kind of quirky apearance and very individual styles of acting.

What about the stirring performance by Shaquille O'Neal in Kazaam, and Steel?

Everyone seems to leave him out of the best actor talk...

Jeremy, You make a fine point about Shaq. Don't forget about his cameo in "Good Burger" The way he delivers the line, "I wanted tomato on this Good Burger!" sent chills down my spine.

I like steve buscemi, but he's always steve buscemi, the same as arnie is always arnie, regardless of charctor, so on the grounds of;
brad pit in 12 monkeys
brad pit in snatch
brad pit in the rest of his movies, Brad Pitt.

As for the lady actressessess, it's all down to eye candy really (sorry, I'm a bloke).

The entire cast of Full House. I get choked up every time. They really get ya right here... (thumping on chest)

Then there's Tony Danzuuuuuuh, in his performances from Who's the Boss.

Favorite sitcom actress? Roseanne. God that girl's funny.

(Too much Nick at Nite)

Comedy channel's "Insomniac with..." whats-his-name? My memory is shot when I'm watching anyway...

Oldies? Don Knotts!!! He's still kickin it, ain't he?

A moment of silence for Weezee. (Jeffersons)

Ok to narrow it down to 2,

Actor = Mel Gibson. A thesbian, genius.
Actress = Marlee Matlin for shattering all boundaries, in life and on screen.

Default Some very nice picks...

Hello,

You are refering to Dave Attell, who stars in Comedy Centrals Insomniac... a very quality show.

You also make some other good points in acting.

....But everyone has forgotten about Steve "3 Men and a baby" Guttenburg.

Jmuncy,
It's not that we've forgotten Steve Guttenburg, it's more that we've blocked him out, did you see his performance in the village people movie 'can't stop the music'?

Couldn't care less about Actors...

On the other hand Actresses... well my all time favourite is an English Actress called Cheri Lunghi. She used to star in coffee ads etc and bad TV shows, but way back she starred opposite Paul McGann in a BBC series called the Monocled Mutineer.

Now I'll tell you. She was respnsible for my first divorce! I fell totally in love with.. her face (not as thin and "worked out" as it is now), her body and HER ACTING! What a combination.

Does anyone else remember the series and, if so, was she responsible for your first divorce too?

aye up PNE, how goes it?
cheri lunghi, wasn't she in Excalliber?

I vaguely remember the monicled mutineer, but never watched it (was it middle to late 80's?)

'ere, no, she wasn't responsible for any divorces, I'm far too cautious to get involved with other people ;-D

Cool, I haven't heard that before.

Yes I agree. UK actresses can even get yankee guys in trouble. Enough reason for me to swim over there across the big pond for a while.

Nothing beats UK comedy.

Mr.Bean. 'nuff said.

(not the movie, though)
