Au contraire.

http://www.answers.com/topic/toroid

The "passage through a retrochronal toroid" is the complex maneuvre a spaceship can perform in the vicinity of a black hole, where time flows backwards. It is a "sort of" time-travel.

Last time I did it I actually came back younger ... lol.

Will you look here:

I, on the other hand, suffer from ergasiomania...

...and the ever popular mythomania.

I've replied in the wrong thread, call it workload, call it pressure, here we go again.

That is an American Dictionary, so it does not count

My headmaster put me in charge of a class at School and he was so impressed that he gave me the title
'eventus stultorum magister' so there!

I remember, back when me and your dad were young, there was a time filled with merry quips, barbed repartée, blondes, jello wrestling, et al. Where are they now ?

Are they confined to the long-forgotten past, together with discussions of important matters, such as the feasability of time-travel ? Are they really gone forever ?

Good job too, say I.

Brunettes took over where blondes once wrote and Jell-o wrestling was cancelled due to the bunny costume being at the cleaners.

BTW does anyone remember which cleaners it was taken to? I was hoping to see Paul wear it while he played with his records ;)

Jello wrestling is still a vivid memory (in some folk's daydreams anyway!), and I don't think I'd ever get into that bunny outfit Wen.. are you sure you can't remember which cleaners? :o)

awwww come on Paul, I bet you'd look cute as a bunny. Long bunny ears and a powder puff tail ;)

Add green jello and you'd be the belle of the ball.

Now that I think about it..... it might be at the cleaners that specializes in bunny costumes :o)

Maybe we should try changing the subject. Here's one:

Is life after marriage a possibility ?

I personally have been married four times, and have never found any evidence that life is sustainable under those circumstances - in fact I consider weddings to be the final ceremonies before oxygen is cut off. Or am I just being cynical ?

You are.

The truth of the mater is that marriage is the end of one life, but the start of a whole new one.

And for the lucky ones this new life is better.

Unfortunately this thread is not the longest - the most confusing perhaps, but not the longest. It's also starting to sssslllllooooooowwwww down in it's increase of size.

Ah, well, it had to start dying sometime lol

And life is ONLY possible after divorce!! ;)

Well I wonder,... between thehappysmoker and mushroom could we get a clearer picture of the ins and outs, no,... the ups and downs, no,... the dos and don'ts of marriage.

Artyom just got married and he is still breathing,...? (Say hey to Olga, if you can breath!)

Personally, I think most people have unrealistic ideas about marriage and then when those expectations are not realized then anger, resentment, frustration and depression take over. But that's just what I think!

I believe the biggest part of frustrations about marriage lay at expectations about...sex;-) it is hard to surprise each other each time;-)

Well, if nothing else this topic alone could fill a huge book, so wen, maybe there is still hope!

I can understand what wen means about the weight being lifted after divorce, I have been there and that somewhat compares to the bliss of a new love. Because you then feel hope of finding true love.

If I'm not mistaken Artyom, you are still in the first year, so yes I consider that 'just married' compared to the 18 years we will celebrate this year.

18 hard years mind you, that have taken lots of effort, understanding and forgivness as all marriages do, ours isn't unique. Some couples just appear to have it easy, when the two people involved can act rational.

I found a lot of the same problems in both marriages, the difference in the second is that the two of us were willing to compromise expectations for reality. Maybe we are just getting tooo old and tired to fight.

All I know is that it has gotten better (both of our attitudes) and the bond is stronger... 5 years ago, I would have laughed at what I just said, with disbelief.

33 years this year, I still remember John Lennons lyrics ' I'm in love for the first time, don't you know it's going to last'. I nearly got married at 18, we still e-mail occasionally, but 33 years, is cool, just getting run in really!

I married hubbie #1 for all the wrong reasons - he was handsome and a total bad boy, a real wild one. We made it past the one year mark before I bailed.

I married hubbie #2 for all the right reasons - he is kind, loving, fun, creative and smart, and he too is handsome but NOT a bad boy. We've made it to the 12-year wedding anniversary and 14 years together.

Marriage is much better when you're older and wiser... or more easy going? patient? tolerant?

Well, I put it down to the Hallmark Channel, and all those pink and blue books - filling their pretty little dumb heads with nonsense about doctors on white horses etc. How do they stand a chance ? How do we stand a chance ? How does anyone stand a chance ?

We've been married for 45 years and never a cross word. We're both dead.

18 hard years mind you, that have taken lots of effort, understanding and forgivness as all marriages do, ours isn't unique. Some couples just appear to have it easy, when the two people involved can act rational.
We are 4 years together, we just got married last September;-) Sure it is not 18 years, but we've already known both positive and negative parts of each other. Nobody perfect, it's just some people a bit more not perfect;-) and you have to decide what level of non perfection you can accept;-) So far we both OK with this level.

It's our imperfections that make us perfectly flawed! ;)

I hope you have a long and happy life Artyom. Congrats on the marriage. :)

No is't not dead or frozen, just resting and thinking about which dark corner to go into next.

Dunno about Die-hard Dinosaur. In my case it will probably be Die-soft worm, with no early bird to get it.
