Stupid people
The story is here Right Wing Watch: The Dangers of Auto-Replace
In addition to blocking traffic from websites they don’t like, it looks like the web-geniuses behind the American Family Association’s OneNewsNow site have a few other tricks up their sleeves, such as automatically replacing any use of the word “gay” with the word “homosexual” in any of the AP stories they run … leading to instances in which proper names are reformatted to meet their ridiculous standard, such as this article about sprinter Tyson Gay winning the 100 meters at the U.S. Olympic track and field trials in which he is renamed “Tyson Homosexual”:

Re: Stupid people
That takes a special kind of stupid!
Mind you, I did see a post on a forum about the pilots Alcock and Brown rendered as Al**** and Brown. And references to the prick of a needle came out badly, as well!

Re: Stupid people
The World of Warcraft gaming forums have pretty strict content filtering, which replaces objectionable words with random characters (@#!* are the most frequent). Always funny when someone types "grapes" to have it come out "g#$@!s". Worst part is, the filter can easily be bypassed completely.

Re: Stupid people
Political correctness gone mad, gone mad!
Gay is also a name for happy. I have felt particularly gay today. Should I be feeling particularly homosexual then?
 Thats worrying.

Re: Stupid people
I used to work for a Language Translation Software company (now defunct) that had the same problem.. "Gay" was translated as "Homosexual", and an astounding number of words got translated into "Toilet".

Re: Stupid people
This all reminds me of a british comedian named Hywell Bennet giving a speech about how you could say you pricked your finger but you could'nt finger your ....
Depends what your read into any given sentence, meaning and perception are two totally different beasts.

Actually lspence has a point there (not about being queer ) My Granddad used to always say "oh I feel a little queer" when he wasn't well.
Should I be calling the police now?
