Thnigs so bad in UK, government website advertises nude webcam jobs

Now, I wish that this was a spoof, a bit of a joke. But it isn't. Recently a job for nude "webcam operators" was placed on the Job Centre Plus website.

Here's a link to the story, which does check out. Because I did the checking, and yes, the advert is on the website. Recession? I had NO idea that it was so bad that this kind of position (if you'll pardon the word in this context) would be placed on official government employment websites...

Well, I guess if one is into that type of work the ad would be acceptable. Although I think any serious nude performer might require more than a guarantee of 10 pounds per hour?!!

But seriously, that is messed up.

Basically the advert is for exhibitionist amateurs to make what they call pin money. But if you are a student with a massive overdraft at the bank and no money for food, appearing naked on a website so that you can avoid fainting from lack of food might not seem too bad a deal. Until years later some crass idiot turns up at a business meeting clutching photos taken years ago...

YouTube - Rainbow with disturbing sexual undertones

It say's disturbing sexual undertones - well it's a funny version of a Kids show 're dubbed' and simply funny. Not disturbing

Very funny! Though NOT re-dubbed. What happened was THIS.

Several years ago ITV (as did the BBC) ran Christmas Specials for staff only.

They would put together compilations of bloopers and show them at the big Christmas party.

But the man who played Zippy or George decided to do something a bit different. He persuaded his colleagues to record a special version of Rainbow to be the Rainbow contribution to that year's compilation Christmas Special.

And there it remained, probably stuck on a U-Matic cassette tape until someone decided -thank God!- to release it into the wild!

My brother -who works in the media industry- had several BBC Christmas tapes given him. Seeing sue Lawley come out with a very loud F***l whilst doing a walk and talk piece through an open air market was quite a shock!

Thanks Martin, very interesting - The presenter Geoffrey could not find work after doing Rainbow for years and is now a London Taxi Driver. I bet he misses Zippy
