Need Help in Forum Starting

Hello Everyone!

Having known the advantage of interacting with others, I thought of starting a community. So just registered a domain and installed the phpBB through fantastico.

I would like to know how to proceed further?

Any help from the forum owners would be appreciated.

Holy Crap Cher - that is quite some question to chew on in a post - um. I have a forum and it's in a very terra genre. People don't talk on the forum much - it's always been slow - a few pics in the Gallery, a few posts at the forum - but they read every damn thing you put up on it so if your forum is slow - be ready to write - and I mean you, not a copywriter - It's up to you to understand your genre and to be able to get them to post. Some genre groups talk more than others. Once you find out if you have lurkers or talkers you'll know which directions to evolve to.

Your in a pretty spectacular forum right now - what do you like about it? Build it. Run any forums in your chosen genre - or categorically similar and see what ones have people - what are they doing right? Build it. What are they doing poorly? Don't build it.

Put it up - have fun with it. It's a community and needs some time to evolve.

I do want to build a community on health and related topics.

Well, one of the things is to go to other like forums, and see if they allow a sig link.

CTABUK runs his own forum, as does NeO (different topic) and other members here. CrankyDave is a member of a whole slew of them. Become a member of different forums closely related, ad your sig, pm some members, just to let them know that you have a forum on the subject, invite them to start.

I first joined this forum from a SERP. Get some "discussions" going on a particular topic that might get some good search position.

Before you know, your forum will be a community.
