HI all

I got this in my inbox this morning:

All,
If you receive a phone call on your mobile from any person, saying that he or she is a company engineer, or telling you that they are checking your mobile line, and you have to press #90 or #09 or any other number, end this call immediately without pressing any numbers.

There is a fraud company using a device that one you press #90 or #09 they can access your SIM card and make calls at your expense.

Forward this message to as many colleagues, relatives and friends so you can stop it.

Great stuff. Because this the break room, I kept thinking this might be a humorous topic and didn't look to it until now.

If you call it "Cell Phone" instead of mobile, more will look, I think, but it is good and important this topic!

That sounds very fishy to me. I can't think of any way that would allow someone to access your SIM card. Can anyone verify this?

If an email or post seems at all suspicious, I usually run them through the search box at Urban Legends Reference Pages(www.snopes.com) . You might want to bookmark it.

I find that the most convincing scams usually contain a grain of truth.
