What are your objectives?
I am interested to know what your immediate life objectives are. I'll start by giving you mine. I want to get my own websites earning enough residual income so that I don't have to work for anyone else. Because I don't like working for other people. Who does? It has been very difficult for me to do much work on my own websites at all, because I have always had demanding jobs which suck most of my time and patience out of me.
But what I want to do is get to the point where my affiliate marketing sites are making enough residual income to get me parked at my computer, full time, to use my time exactly as I please. Once I accomplish that, and I have 8 + (fresh) hours a day (where I can be bothered, because I'm not exhausted) to dedicate myself to my own online empire, and the money to back up and support developments, I think I'll be very happy. I am almost there, but not quite.
I don't have any aspirations to SEO for others, or built websites for others. I do it for the money. When I see how much money these sites that I make generate, it makes me envious. I can obviously create these profitable sites, but in the past, I have lacked resources. ie:
Time
A Product
Money
(Spare) Patience/Energy
I don't necessarily need a product, but making money is much easier if you have one. But it also involves extra hard work and enduring commitment. I can't be bothered. I just want to build a massive network of affiliate marketing projects and related businesses. And once I have that running, I will be content to wake up each morning, knowing that I don't have to do anything I don't want to do. And what I do decide to do with be of my own accord and my own decision. That's all I want and I'll be happy.

Other than new year resolutions, my immediate objectives that I am working towards (long and short term) are:
1. Be Debt-free (not long to go now)
2. Get Website revamped and SEO service up and running so it takes off properly in 18 months when daughter is at school and son is at playschool.
3. Lose another stone in weight (or 2nd option half a stone).
4. Get my son walking!!

Mine are very similar to yours MrLeN. Use the internet to create enough money to be boss and trouble free. And of course buy a big car like a Nissan Skyline =)

lol, well are you working on "that" site mate?
You could be making a lot of money out of it soon, if you stop procrastinating and get your rear end into gear :)

to help further lighten the mood, here's a little stanza from the legendary chevy chase from the movie Spies Like Us:
Soviet Captor: "What is your objective?"
Emmett Fitz-Hume (chase): "My objective? Well, I object to taking a girl out you know and buying her dinner and she won't put out for ya."

That's hard to do considering, for some odd reason, I keep getting sucked back onto this board to read the latest when I should be working on "that" site.
Procrastination, Mr "Top Posting Member" LeN, has nothing what-so-ev-ah to do with it.

lol @ Top Posting MrLeN
..well, I've had a lot to say lately. But I've decided to give it a rest, because I could feel an imminent ban coming on. And I know I wouldn't handle that very well.

Was that a dig at the car choice or the fact that i'm never going to make any money from the internet? =P

I think it just means that he agrees that it's a pretty good idea. He must like skylines :)
I do too actually, and I wouldn't say no if anyone wants to send me one :D

Nah, they look horrible.
I'd much prefer a Mercedes SL 55 Cabriolet, or in true Essex Wife style, a BMW X5 or Merc ML class.
Wheres that leopard print for the interior? ;)

Oh really? That's nice Debbie. A superb and exceptional taste you have in motor vehicles there. Very.. er, elegant.

Horrible?!! They're brill! BMW?! Leopard print interior?! OK if I become rich then I'll buy me a Skyline (with NOS) and you a BMW X5 (with the done up interior - eurgh!) and we'll race them down the A12 and up the A14. I wonder who will win =P

Yeah you're probably right. I'd only end up stacking my car into the back of a lorry if I used the NOS anyway. Yeah no probs, I'll buy you one if I get rich lol =)

To be honest, I looked at the Nissan Skyline on Google Images (cos I never knew what one was) and the ones with the huge bumpers looked hideous (I assume they're the ones used for racing and cruising down Southend Seafront) but the more streamlined variety (theres a silver one on the first page) that looked quite nice.
But I have dreamed of Sl 55 since I was 17 learning to drive. And X5 is probably more practical for me cos of my extra baggage (that naturally comes with 2 kids).
Len - I think you have to have watched the series Essex Wives to appreciate the full extent of their bad taste. I wouldn't really have leopard print exterior - I was just being stereotypical ;)

But shouldn't you use your own imagination and choose a stereo that "you" would prefer? Why would you want to choose a particular stereo just because everyone else has it?
..or am I missing something??

Yes, Len you are missing something. ;) Sadly forums are quite emotionless places. And there is no way for me to get my sarcastic tone of voice across in cyberspace.
Basically the said program would have you believe that every Essex Wife had bad taste, looked like a Barbie doll, had botox, was Jodie Marsh etc. Although I do like X5's, that is of my own liking. I was only being sarcastic with the leopard interior etc, because that is just the type of person that I am.
Do you really think i have got as far as I have in web design by having bad taste? I sure hope not.
