My 30th, All Over Again!
I just sent this to some of my friends, and I decided to post it here too :)
----
Last night I had the most fun I have had for ages. I had a few drinks too. I normally don't drink, but my family threw a surprise for my 30th, which was actually on the 4th of Jan, and we had already all got together at mums and she cooked a roast. But I thought that last night, just my sister and her boyfriend were going to take me out. But when we arrived at the restaurant, my whole family was there, and then some. So I was surprised, but very happy that they had all conspired - lol. At least now I know they all love me. Even though I'm a hermit..
It was a themed restaurant called Witches and Britches. The staff there were all dressed as warlocks and witches and played their parts. It was really funny. Especially for me because they were TOLD that we were there for my 30th. So the characters (the staff) laid it on me all night. But it was fun and there were heaps of laughs. Inside was set out really well. It was dark and they had fog machines and glowing things. It was like a dark castle or something. Way cool.
Before the stage shows started, which was performed wile we ate our meals, we were in a lobby/bar area. Everyone was eager to buy me drinks. Normally I'll just have one or two, but last night I thought: "What the heck". So I gulped them all down. I had six glasses of bourbon before we were even seated, lol. Good thing is, I can handle my alcohol fairly well. So I wasn't sick and I didn't make a scene (yet, lol). Which is more than I can say for the guy celebrating his 18th :)
The show was fantastic, and really funny. I was bought another whole jug of bourbon, and I drank that too. A cake was bought out and everyone sang happy birthday. One of the performers was making fun of my at the beginning of the night, saying I have a baby face and that bourbon must be an elixir of youth. He was saying that I was quiet (because I was mostly just nodding and smiling), but insisted that they'd change that by the end of the night and put on a really big evil laugh.
So at the end of the evening (and I'm sure this was timed to coincide with my jug of bourbon being finished), the performers put a big spotlight on me and asked me to come up on stage. So I got up there and I was doing the tango with a really nice looking 6' showgirl with REALLY nice - long legs, lol. Lucky she knew how to do the tango, because I just followed her lead. Did I say she had really nice (long) legs? I also remember dancing to some song, and I went of -- Wiggling my hips across the stage. (Well, they asked me too - lol). And there was another part where I had to put my hands on the girls hips and dance behind her across the stage, and she had her hand on some other performers hips, like a train. But I decided I'd wind my arm around and slap her rear with each step and the audience exploded. I didn't actually slap her hard, it was just for show. But the audience roared with laughter, because it was unexpected and I wasn't asked to do that part :)
It was all good, because the stage had bright lights and I couldn't see the audience. Plus I had too many drinks to be nervous. But I wasn't so drunk to have made a fool of myself (..er, I think - haha). Oh and I remember they gave me an apron to wear while I was on stage, and the apron had fake breasts. So I decided to get everyone laughing and I stopped everything and played with them for a moment, as though I had just realised I had breasts (like, "Oh cool, breasts" - lol). When I come off the stage, my whole family were in tears. They said I was the best guy that was on stage and that others just stood there like a stick in the mud.
Oh, and while I was on stage, the showgirls gave me a cocktail and the audience said "scull, scull, scull". So I did lol. My sisters boyfriend said I did really well, as though it had all been rehearsed, because I went along with what they were saying and always did something to go along with the performance. I guess there must be a bit of an entertainer in me. I also remember the guy with the microphone saying "Give a round of applause for the guy who wont leave the stage" I had my arm around the showgirl. I was quite comfortable right where I was.
When we had moved back into the lobby/bar area after the show, I had girls coming over and talking to me, commenting on the things I did on stage. There were HEAPS of girls there, because there were three hens parties being celebrated as well. I guess being a stage performer helps with popularity - lol. All in all it was a terrific night and I had a blast. It was best night I've had in years.
Now, If you'll excuse me I need to go and take a few aspirin. I don't feel so good..
Regards,
Len

congratulation
happy birthday to you(maybe i am late).
it's a very interesting experience in the party, it seems you also have characters that only good art performers have.

Imaginary Train
Ok, my uncle just sent me another one. I realise now, to my embarrassment, that there WAS no train.

I think you're milking this whole 30th thing. Wait until your my age, i've had 3 hip replacements and a new knee. Currently there's talk about my head and a jar of pickling vinegar :S
It's a hard life but someone's got to live it.

I was over the 30th thing, and wouldn't have said another thing, except I got a surprise birthday, and I was recorded making a twit of myself while half plastered. So, I decided to do a take 2 :)
