Default To hide drives in a computer

Hi all, in my college there is a problem with the computers and we need your help the problem is ti hide all the C,D,E drives to be hidden to the guest and the adminstrator have all the facilities and if hiding is not possible to the guest user is there possibility to us to make the drives as read only and the guset user cannot change any thing in the drives and he had permissions to read only and the administrator can see the drives and change the drive contents.

you need to adjust the permissions settings to prevent that issue.

If it's Windows-based, select each of the drives, go to Properties-->Sharing and Security, make sure no permissions are inherited from parent objects, and then set your deny permissions for "This Folder, Subfolders and Files".

If you do it right, your guest user will still see the drives themselves, but when they go to click on them receive an "Access is Denied" message.

Sir that option is disabled how to enable it
that option is not active iam sending this print screen plz see thank you for ur reply.

You probably need to turn off simple file sharing.

If you're using XP Home, though, you're pretty well out of luck.

thank you sir its worked in our college and so many students who are downloading unwanted softwares and causing problem to the lab technicians is solved they said u thanks,iam personally saying Thank you .
