Mascots for 2008 Olympics?

I just ran across this pic on Fark...

Apparantly they're the new "mascots" for the upcoming 2008 Olympics in Beijing.

Does anyone else find them slightly... weird?

I'm thinking they should drop these, and buy the rights to the "Noid" from Dominos... now there was a mascot one could be proud of.

They look like the tummy thingys. The ones that bounce around on a green area that looks like grass. Hope that is what they are called.

What ever happen to the rings? Those were just fine until China changed all that. If the first Olympians from Greece could see this they would die all over again. Thanks again China. No matter how corny you make the Olympics the USA is still going to kick butt and there is nothing they can do about it.
