Not to be outdone by Google and Yahoo!’s new travel and map offerings, MSN has extensive Halloween coverage of all things spooky in America (no, Dick Cheney isn’t on the list), whether you want to visit these “spiritually gifted” places in person or virtually.


At MSN Travel Central, the front page features “Seven Spooky Must-See Sites,” a list that includes “America’s Most Haunted” city Savannah, Georgia and the Morris-Jumel Mansion in New York.

Follow the front-page link to MSN City Guides for their list of “Top 10 Haunted Spots,” where visitors learn of the legendary Hollywood Forever Cemetery in Los Angeles and The Spaghetti Warehouse in Houston.

My personal favorite, though, is HauntedMap.com’s MSN Virtual Earth mashup highlighting a jack-o-lantern full of haunted American places. It’s only my favorite because it does feature a haunted house in my old Kentucky home.

Just as our license plates reveal that Kentucky is “that friendly,” the Gray Lady at Frankfort’s Liberty Hall is a ghost that will sew up that hole in your sock while you sleep. Now that’s real Southern hospitality!
