Can we package you and sell the CTAB Search Mechanism for Useful and Useless Knowledge? I need something new to sell online.

Make me an offer.
OK let's put it another way, would any of you want to a an encylopaedia salesperson today?
Are we just so reliant upon SE's that we are leaving most of the old learning process behind us?

What's an encyclopedia? You mean like Encarte? Or the Britannica CD? LOL.
We have a set of encyclopedias at our place, but most of the info is out of date. I think we've come to know the online world as the "Latest info with the least amount of looking".
I did start reading books again, and I had forgotten how nice it was to get away for a while. :-)

SEs may be faster, in some instances, but not as reliabe as the "old school" ways of research.
The problem I see most, is gulliable surfers who take what they find on the Net as the gospel truth.
I love cracking open the Encyclopaedia Britannica with my kids and reinforcing the good 'ole days hard fact research.
My son needed to decipher some braille on one of his GameBoy games recently and asked to get online .... absolutely not, let's crack open the book, and viola - it's there and always bookmarked!! :) Google has 4.5M results for "braille" but there's only 1 in my Britannica - much easier to sift through!
If asked, who wrote the Eagles song "Life's Been Good" ctabuk could tell you Joe Walsh before you could type it into your seach bar - same answer, less junk to sift through ...

Mike is obviously more correct than I initially thought; definitely "... depends entirely on the human in quesiton." as webhost1 has demonstrated. Quick, for double the money, what's your name? Oohh sorry, better luck next round :)

Dah, I wish I'd never asked the question.
If computers cannot hurt us, why when someone really pisses you off, do they take so long to download, and why after you have smashed the keyboard (own up here please, I've done it before now)nothing seems to work?

Ahhh shucks guys. I have found myself many times. All I have to do is look behind me and there I am. I see myself all the time. Pretty hard to lose yourself when you see yourself all of the time. :)

Dahhh this one is simple. Smashing the key board only delays the out come a little longer. Now if you put the computer on auto pilot you will never have this situation. Simple

Very good point R2! Depends on the connection to the Internet and the interanl connections of the body ... how fast is our own brain, not just our broadband :)
Also depends on the engine ... search engine and human body ...

I'd say depends on the person... I'm faster than Google... and my Encyclopedia set has a layer of dust on it I can't go near (I'm allergic to dust)
My better half got a laugh or two out of my favorite saying "Google it" we were watching two and a half men and they said Google it, on the show, a day later we watched Hitch and they said it about 3 times on that movie! Red(my gf) laughed and said... did they get that from you? LOL!

Hey wrmineo your back. The kids did not use and abuse you? You have a lot of catching up to do.
Everyone know's that my connection is the best. So there really is no competition at all.
