Default Anyone have any nice photos of Snow, Holiday Lights/Decor?

Happy Holidays Everyone ;-}

i just went outside to take what i had hoped to be a really great photo of our christmas lights around the cottage......but in truth any photo that i took just looked so "UN-Christmassy" because, well, it's 76 degrees out and if you notice there is not much snow.......

since south florida is real lame for picturesque Norman Rockwell style Holiday displays.....i would really love it if any of you have access to a digital camera & have cool lights, christmas trees displays, menoras, even the neighbors lit up house down the block or the community tree near city hall.......anything covered in lights and snow would be nice really.....

i'd really love to see any photos if U have.......
Happy Holidays & peace to all from us ;-}

Default pix of ice skating, snowmen, frozen lakes

pix of ice skating, snowmen, frozen lakes would be great too.

even a pix of a large bowl of eggnog would suffice.

or the 2nd grade Christmas play w/ Mrs. McCaulley, the math teacher, playing the carols on the piano while the students all sing along, all out of key, but for some reason it's incredibly adorable and sounds wonderful at that moment. you stop and catch yourself thinking that maybe the world isn't as terrible a place as you once had thought.....

No i am not Rainman but i do collect photos (and i'm definitely a good driver definitely....a good driver....) and this time of year especially.....

Default Cute Photo

Here's one for you Daren! I reckon it probably really belongs in the WPW'ers Way Back thread.. as it's a pretty old photo! On our trusty old sledge/toboggan.. there's myself seated on the right, aged about 7, I think... and my sister who was about 5 at the time. Pretty cute photo though, eh? ;o)

Default well, it's raining and the snow is gone

Here in Pennsylvania, we've had two pretty good snowfalls this year; however, each of them melted through warmer temps and rain. The last of the snow is going fast this morning and no accumulating snow is predicted for the next 10-day cycle; so, it's fairly balmy and non-Norman Rockwell up here, too.

However, since Christmas lives in the heart and mind and only goes out of style if you let it, please have a peaceful and loving Christmas.

Geraldine
that sounds like it should be on a card> or written on a tree ornament
or at least the "quote of the day" that many offices have on the blackboard in the coffee room.

however used, it is a great line & i will use it on all my Scrooge friends.....

awesome photo paul; i really like black and white it always seems to make photographs look more "sincere"; there is an artist down here in florida who collects and makes greeting/holiday cards out of people's old photographs like youN your sis's (no i'm not saying you're old ;-} )...i wonder if you've ever seen them they're kinda neat & different....

my folks have lots of similar pix in shoeboxes in their attic up in New York where they live (& i'm from originally)..they just havent figured out how to use the scanner that zana and i got & sent to them last Christmas to send us any lol.....

DAREN ;-}

oh my god its after 8 am and i've been up all night working, posting nonsense, & running laps with my new friend in Egypt in the FX LOGO-A-THON i need to get a few winks if i'm to survive the night...

Default Shayna under our little tree

asside from zana, shayna is my best friend in the world.
i found her about 5 years ago; she was abandoned, lying in a roadside ditch in Boca Raton, Florida w/ a broken hip after a hit and run style accident. she was also pregnant at the time and soon after taking her in we had a house full o' puppies too....a mix of BorderCollie (her breed) and bulldog of all things...the pups were about the cutest things we had ever had seen & my friends all took them after weaning.

needless to say shayna was here to stay; if you're at all a dog person you know exactly what i'm talking about ;-}

so this is shayna's 5th Christmas with us ;-} she's a pretty lucky dog and we're really lucky to have her in our life....

merry christmas from shayna!

there is something about unopened presents that always comforts the heart with the affirmations of family & friendships...

i noticed now that in our abode there is more computer, tech junk, gear, audio/video equipment than furniture; hence the smaller fiber-optic tree on a digital amplifier lol...

Merry Christmas to all:) I don't post much because well, DAREN talks too much for the both of us. Ha Ha. Anyway I am still trying to learn Photo Shop. Today I just learned how to put other web members remarks and photographs in with my posts. Daren showed me this photo with Paul Hiles in it earlier today.

We have holiday guests over now and it is a rare moment to find DAREN actually out of his office away from the computer screen. Ha ha I had to bribe him w/ fresh baked cookies.

Happy New Year from Zana, Daren and Shayna!

At least Daren doesn't force you to sign off as "Daren, Daren, and Daren"...

(from the old Bob Newhart show, the version where he ran a hotel: "Hi, my name is Larry. This is my brother Darryl. This is my other brother Darryl.")

Here I am in Ottawa, Canada, "The Great White North"... pffttt... it's been raining for a day and a half and there is no snow to be seen anywhere. I'm not a big fan of winter at all but the one day I think snow is acceptable is Christmas Day. I blame it on the government.

I might blame it on the UN too but I don't want to start another flame war. And this is one thing no one can blame on Google.

(wait for it... here it comes...)

I feel sorry for Daren now. He is always going to be #2 on the signings it appears. Never number one or number 3.

Think about it. If they signed it any other way...you would have to giggle about the rhymings.

Zana, Shayna.... or Shayna, Zana... or ....Shayna and Zana or ...Zana and Shayna. Then no matter where you put poor ol' Daren it would sound out of place.

Actually I like the Shayna-Zana sequence. Sounds like a group I used to listen to who sung old 50's and 60's tunes. ;0)

that's so funny ron/minstrel because i sometimes get this dyslexic-like memory mnemonic hic-cup and i'll be in public going through the banalities of informal introduction.....introducing her to so and so, saying "this is my girlfriend shayna" because i'm miles away in my head thinking about something else (or like if we're in the grocery store buying dog food)..lol.... an then get smacked by her...lol...

hey i finally got zana to post something! hell just frooze over too...lol....

but really; i show her your collective posts all the time and she thinks we're nuts but also a lotta fun (well she knows i'm nuts i can't speak for you and Minstrel! lol ;-} )

OK we're off to Christmas brunch w/ a whole bunch of family/friends;

Have a Merry One!

DAREN ;-}

lol you guys crack me up! ;-)
a very merry and safe christmas right back to all of you!

what's even funnier still is that all this time i haven't told you the pronunciation of zana's name becasue i didn't wish to spoil the puns before lol...

but her name actually rhymes w/ "rain" + a.........( i know... when i first met her & first saw her name written i thought i was going out with a girl named "zanax" lol...)

but it's zana like zaina would be pronounced.....it's her mother's name too; i have no idea of it's etymology i think perhaps it's arabic for "one who likes to shop" lol....

so when kids come (did i say that? oops she better not hear THAT now) instead of
Dana, Lana, Hannah, Vanah, and Brianna

it will have to be ZAINA, Daina, Laina, ...uh....Plain Jane-a, ....uh...Citizen Kane-a......

all living on the "Home on the Range-a" ...lol

MERRY!!!!!!!!!!

see now - that was the pronunciation I assumed like Laina and Champagne-a and "shpping is a pain-a" and never the twaina shall meet... but then I'm younger than Ron... but then again-a I just gave him title to the beanie for teaching me how to do something I didn't know how to do...

...which is something that will probably never happen again-a...

Ron, just remember "The raina in Spaina falls mainly on the plaina" and it will help you to get all these names right...

lol !
here's a photo of Daren, Zana at, you guessed it, STARBUCKS('hey can you spare a lotta CHANGE-a for a cup of coffee?' in West Palm Beach.....
i couldn't find any decent Christmas photos of us together because one of us is usually holding the camera...

Intresting facts about us:( any writers out there need material? )
1) we met 4 years ago in Starbucks.
2) (more specifically) we met because well, she was my boss (and 12 years my younger) and i was making capuccinos for 7.85 an hour and trust me i wasn't smiling as much as i am today lol....
3) i couldn't stand her at all at first and even asked the district manager to transfer me becasue i couldn't stand working with her...at the time i was just learning how to make websites and was realizing that my rock and roll career was just about over. (at 30 if you haven't "made it" it's time to "throw in the towel") hence my "between careers" 'job' at Starbucks.....having her boss me around didn't really make my day, if you know what i mean...
4) two years ago i got paid for my first web site design job.....and then she moved in..and the rest is happily ever after.....lol....

************************************************** ******************
HEY still looking 4 more SNOW/CHRISTMAS pix from anyone!

Between you and Daren, you both were all over the place on the song spectrum, and not once did it occur to either you.....

There is nothing quit
