Default The secret is out - Happy Birthday !!!!

While I have tried really hard NOT to do this...the temptation was just to great and the willpower was to weak. I know there is likely to be repercussions, I'd expect nothing less. :) This just has to be done!

It has came to my attention that there is one among us who is celebrating a birthday today - December 14th. I know that embarassing him is the LAST thing any of us here on WPW would want to do.

However! A birthday is meant to be celebrated and acknowledged. To be fair though, I'll keep his secret and just say Happy Birthday.

So here goes:

Happy Birthday

Paulhiles

OHHH did I say that outloud? It's to late to take it back now. :)

I know 'someone' on the forum called you OLD - I don't buy that for a second - you just haven't grown into your wrinkles yet. ;) With that said I'm going to add one last thing to this birthday post:

Quote:
There are recent rumors that Julie Andrews did a Senior Citizens concert. Instead of 'Favorite Things' Ms. Andrews sang a revised version of the song called 'Wonderous Things'.

Wonderous Things

Maalox and nose drops and needles for knitting,
Walkers and handrails and new dental fittings,
Bundles of magazines tied up in string,
These are a few of my favorite things.

Cadillacs and cataracts, hearing aids and glasses,
Polident and Fixodent and false teeth in glasses,
Pacemakers, golf carts and porches with swings,
These are a few of my favorite things.

When the pipes leak,
When the bones creak,
When the knees go bad,
I simply remember these wonderous things,
And then I don't feel so bad.

Hot tea and crumpets, and corn pads on bunions,
No spicy hot food or food cooked with onions,
Bathrobes and heat pads and hot meals they bring,
These are a few of my favorite things.

Back pains, confused brains, and no fear of sinnin,
Thin bones and fractures and hair that is thinin,
And we won't mention our short shrunken frames,
When we remember our favorite things.

When the joints ache, when the hips break,
When the eyes grow dim,
Then I remember the great life I've had,
And then I don't feel so bad.
Happy Birthday Paul and everyone who is having a birthday this month. Hope it is a great one!

Default A birthday?

Happy Birthday Paul!

For as long as our memory holds out, at least there will be a few of us here who remember coding pages for IE 1.0 and Netscape 1.0 (Eeeeewwww!). Maybe even Mosaic (created right here in Urbana).

IE 1.0?? Netscape 1.0??? Just exactly how old do you think I am?? ;-) LOL!!!
Seriously though... it sounds like Urbana has a lot to answer for! Many thanks for the birthday wishes Narasinha... let's continue to encourage users to upgrade their browsers NOW!!! :c)

What? Netscape 1.0 has been upgraded? Why wasn't I informed?

The Netscape people are definitely going to be hearing from my people in the morning. This is outrageous! Why, next thing you know, AOL is going to come out with a browser that installs on something smaller than an 80 gig drive and ODP is going to initiate efforts to become relevant! This is too much - it's the end of the world as we know it! (Wait... I think there's a song in there somewhere!) (Dang it - I think REM already did that one...)

And for those of you who may have missed it, Internet Explorer has been updated many times... even carbonize recently admitted to using it... :-D

I think that would be just way too much to expect.

Default Happy Birthday

Happy Birthday Paul

I’m new here, but at your age I thought any greetings might be appreciated. Besides
yesterday was my daughter’s birthday also, who turned 30 and thought she was going to
die.

By the way, with this new software out (IE 1.0 and Netscape 1.0), does this mean I have
to update my arpanet map?
