REMEMBER THAT GAME CALLED "TELEPHONE?" where everyone gets in a circle someone whispers into someone's ear and the phrase has to make it around the room as people add on to it......... well this is sort of the html equivalent.

(yes i have way too much time on my hands lol)

all you need to play this game is to have/access to a server...as well as some knowledge of web mark-up to some degree.....and some creativity.

as you see i gave it all a kick start.... laying out a html skeleton w/ a few ideas & javascripts i had in mind to give a starting point( after making a little collection of as many people's faces i could remember too lol)----check out the roll-over on green WebPageWorld link in header {look on the right side of header when U mouse-over the green WPW logo on left} it kinda captures the whole enthusiasm of WPW if you look at the animation shutter by.....lol.....let me know if i forgot any faces and i will add to them if U wish..

Also as you see i commenced writing a .css style sheet too...... it's only got like three classes on it right now feel free to grab the code and customize your add-on/styles even more . i matched the bgcolor of the page to wpw's #eeeeee ash-light grey

so then anyone can start now: just grab the code(s) from this/ any previous post....and i'll be really curious as to what it all looks like after like 20 designers or so have played w/ it.....just remember to keep the entire target path to all the elements URL just like sending out an html Email

once you have "added" to the page then simply upload your work to a server and post back to this thread w/ the new URL link to look at

one rule----YOU CAN'T ELIMINATE ANY ELEMENTS or drastically rearrange them--- you can only add to them/work with the entire code/just keep adding to the code you copy---for example i left the entire middle of the header, to the right of Minstrel's Evil Homer icon, completely blank...for any logo idea/header idea someone wants to come up with.....theres a blank 400pixel high cell in the middle just to act as a spacer for now until it fills up w/ more and more content as the page is "telephoned" around the "room"......feel free to make the height/height of page as tall/long as you wish.....really ANYONE can add-on to the page; it can be twelve miles high (eventually) if we want it to be....just remember to use only valid html code/css styles. if you're at all unsure how to write html just private message me and i will do it for you/help you through it.....or ask one of the many talented moderators/other web programmers here at WPW to help you--- everyone's here to help everone else... even if you're the most brand new of newComers to web design/the forums here.
additionally.....feel free to nest completely sliced tables(if your design requires so) in container tables too if you wish......you're only limited by your imagination really.....(remember though just valid html.....let's attempt make it so that all browsers can see it good enough)


hey and also remember to include a link/create your own link/logo to your own website like i did in the worm-smurf footer-banner [lets alwasy keep that one at the bottom so we always know where "the bottom" is ]....(additionally, with all the talk this week in the SE convention in Chicago about inbound links this is an interesting way to pollenate your URL legally i would think)..........

exactly! just sorta "add to the leggos" ya know like when a bunch of kids sit around and connect the Leggo projects......

i started w/ a header idea w/ a link to wpw and homer & so......
just copy code and/or css code and upload your version onto your server and post the URL in the thread so we all can look at it
you can finnish the header.....make first table w/ your own h1, h3 title, logos, graphics...any programmers are also asked to enter----

and also they can hang around (the programmers) and fix any mistakes if someone accidentally messs the code/scritps etc.......

so I'm circulating it again.....(ed note to MODs: should we move this game to a design forum to save it from it's slow death here?) lol

rumor has it if we all put our eggs in the basket it (the contest) could end up in a IEntry newsletter as valid "design news" and then the whole world will see your design & everyone will live happily ever after

maybe it could even make Brittany's "top posts of 2004" next year if we all try hard enough lol...
