Moderator Qualifications
I checked through the break room and didn't see anything about this, so I thought I would ask.
What does it take to be a Moderator? Do you have to have a certain amount of posts? Do you have to write an article or two? Do you have to be a close personal friend of Brittany's? What does it take?
I am sure I am not the only one who would be interested in being a moderator. So common, spill it...

Your Right
Yep, I would also like to become a Moderator.
So your not the only one.
Don't think it's gonna happen, I e-mailed Brittany and she said they where not looking for any new Moderators.
'O' well *sigh*

She likes me then hates me on a regular basis but I know where she hides the chocolate powder.

Yep I got in early so gold was good enough. I hear its a full carat diamond at least now-a-days plus something nice of course for all the other Mods to put in a good word for you :))) No really you have to sign in blood that you will be part of Brittany's scheme to take over the world.
Alternatively ghstdrgns (and anyone else) send Brittany an e-mail explaining your skill set and she'll put you on the list and you never know next time she needs someone for a particular forum you may get a call. Mean while keep posting good info and become an active helpful part of the WPW family. I think most Mods were MVP's before becoming Mods and most of the members respect well reasoned argument, good info and a good post far more than they respect a simple MOD logo.

(Pssssst...I'll let you in on another secret--you have to be awfully nice to the WPW computer, which has to give you permission to be so designated...even after Brittany approves you!)

Don't forget...
On discussing rankings, we covered the moderator qualifications in this post: http://webproworld.com/viewtopic.php...er=asc&start=0 ; pay paricular attention to the first series of posts between Brittany and the others. Her first few replies are most 'illuminating', and you will now never see ME becoming a moderator, no matter how badly I wanted to!
It was nice knowing everybody! Give my regards to Broadway!

The number of posts you make is irrelevant, it's quality that counts. That along with a willingness to help, an unbiased attitude, and the ability to admit you were wrong will get you far.
I find that a lot of people that ask to be mods are usually the last people you'd want to make mods, no offence.

At least you dont have to have a sex change to get to MVP ;-) Unless I am missing someone...has anyone noticed there aren't any 'female' MVP's ;-)
My advice to the aspiring to be moderators....Sit back & enjoy the ride ! :-)

Cindy I think the problem is when ever a female is made MVP she gets promoted to MOD. Syren, Wen, Cyanide, Masterpiece and Janeth were all MVP's before becoming MODS.

Thank you everybody for opening my eyes. I now see the error of my ways and repent. (And I would prefer to remain my current gender.) Although, after reading the content of the linked post that mikmik provided, I would say I at least deserve consideration for MVP since I seem to have trumped carbonize in a previous post. And I so enjoy matching wits with a fellow sarcasmist. ;o)

So if I asked to help serve on your soup line, you would hit me in the forehead with your ladle? I stand to get nothing out of being a moderator. It is not a glamour position. You put in a lot of time and effort to maintain the integrity of a forum so that it can help others learn and grow (and have fun). I was asking because I want to help. If that means being a regular member and helping by sharing my knowledge that way, then that is perfectly fine with me.
Just keep your ladle to yourself. ;o)

I was given to understand that the qualifications were:
- a connection to the internet
- a minimum of 3 fingers, for typing
- experience with some sort of surgery (not necessarily a sex change operation)... not sure if that's there to ensure cutting-edge insight or so that someone is online for first aid
- a killer smile (okay I just made that last one up)

Is that being under the knife or doing the surgery?

I'm not sure - at the time, I was afraid to ask questions for fear Brittany would check off "IQ lower than a potato" and change her mind :-)

Seriously Cindy a well deserved MVP.
