Default Firefox Problem?

I know we usually lament IE, but does anyone have a problem with Firefox 0.9.2?

Whenever I open the program my homepage starts shaking up and down. Also, when I open a new tab both pages start to shake! The only way around this is to close one of the tabs and refresh the other page.

Anyone else have this problem?

Have you tried disabling javascript?

That sounds like one of those 'tricks'.

But I have not had a problem with "Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.7) Gecko/20040626 Firefox/0.9.1" on WinXP or Linux Redhat.

Just 0.9.2?

I will get the nightly and see.

firefox .8 hanged on win2K pro but but now .9 is great
just that i want to move the tab bar to near the status bar but i cant do it , it reminds me of netcaptor which i once used before it became a costly software

it speeds up the surfing a lot by reducing the cluttter on the windows bottom bar

No problem here Splinter on XP Pro, W2K or 98.

Is it when opening your homepage? Or are you opening the program on your homepage?

I found a similar problem once, but that was when I was running it as IE, and I had to do the disable javascript scenario (It didnt like running IE with javascript). Were you maybe viewing it in IE mode before your last shutdown? (an off the wall guess;-) )

Yeah. I know about the PHP error. I can't seem to access my site either using FTP and the webhost isn't being very helpful. I haven't got long left on the contract so I'll just switch when it runs out.

I have a problem with Firefox when I just open the program and it loads the programs homepage (which happens to be google.co.uk). I disabled Javascript to no effect.

I have XP home.

You must be downloading the nightly builds yeah Splinter? I'm only on Firefox 0.9.0.0 here! :o)
I honestly don't think it's a problem with Firefox. Have you tested the same startpage with other browsers? I'm not familiar with XP Home, but I've not heard of any incompatibilies with Win 2000 Pro or XP Pro.

Okay, Paul Scholles (where were you against Portugal? lol), 0.9.2 is now the official release, and I just tried it on Linux, and XP Pro today.
Not a prob, and I use Google muchly for start/home page, tabbrowser ext., I pick Dev tools on first run/install (advanced) but uncheck the reporting box.
I basically leave the .js, and java alone - default settings.

I haven't installed the developers toolbar yet, but I get the 'Search This!' extension.

I do notice probs with the extensions wanting to download instead of install sometimes, but no shaking of pages or tabs.

Maybe there was a bug that is worked out from when you installed?

Greece for the double, Euro and Olympics? LMAO...NO!

I tried installing it again but it didn't make a difference. I tried to make a video clip for you to show what I'm getting:

http://ghc.ithium.net/rubbish/bouncy.exe

It's about 0.5Mb (I compressed the .avi. That's why it's .exe).

It doesn't quite give you the full impression as it bounces up and down a lot more than is shown. For some reason my video capture program couldn't capture frames that quickly. It gives a good indication however.

It is very wierd, Splinter.

Have you checked the Bugzilla site?
Here is a forum for Firebird/fox bugs, and some of these topics look promising like: "two Firefox pages open up when I click (single click) URL", and "Firefox Fullscreen Bug".

I am battling major bugs myself here, but it is not directly Firefox, it is motherboard and driver issues.

This is causing some wierd behavior all over, not just Firefox, but I know I have had driver issues with XP before.

For now, that is all I can think of, with all the security software we have to be using, and MS updates these days, you never know where there is going to be a conflict, or even if buggy behavior is due to one FFS!

Good luck, I will keep checking back, and try to find other ideas.

Wait, I got a bug on Linux: Cannot "save page as" !

I got it working :D

It seemed to have a problem with the skin I had on XP so I reverted back to the normal one and it works.
