Default Tips On My Affiliate Program

Hi there

ive just opened a new auction site, not unlike ebay but prettier and more cost effective :)

I installed a new affiliate program yesterday offering 50c a sign-up with a second tier program which pays 10% commission on webmasters reffered who join the affiliate program...

The thing im worried about is the amount im offering... Would you say are viable in todays market??
i.e Am I offering too much or too little ?

Hi Jimbo,

Welome to the forums. Auctions and eBay are something I just have no experience with, so I don't know about the commission amount. Hopefully Cedric or one of the other affiliates will come by and give you some feedback. I do think though that affiliates will look at your traffic ranking and wonder how easy it would be to get customers for you over another more well know name like eBay. Let's see if we can get you some good advice.

Anyone else? What do you think?

Hi Jimbo,
Are you paying your affiliates on a per new member sign up? If so, I would first take a step back and figure out the average life time value of a new member. How long do your average members remain active? How much do they generally spend during that time? Affiliates want to make money, some of them more than people probably realize, are extremely good at what they do and affiliate marketing is their living. I would either increase your rate or give some sort of volume based incentive. That has worked well with our program also run through MyAffiliateProgram. You may also want to look at the rates that your competitors are offering. Many of them post their rates on their affiliate program webpage or website. If you would like to view ours, please visit www.affiliate-program-marketing-center.com. Your affiliates as I am sure you will begin to realize are generally a very talented hard working group of people who deserve the best that you can give. If your a small start up company offer what you can and as you grow help them grow as well with higher rates. Our rates when our company started were around $1-$3/lead. We are now paying $3-$25/lead. If you would like to chat more, please feel free to email me. My contact information is listed below.
