Be super affiliate, are websites the only way to get success

Every day, there are many newbies enter affiliate marketing, and most of them choose to start this business by constructing a website then listing tons of affiliate links in it.
Later, when they realize things don't go so easy, They get tired and depressed in struggling for improving the website traffic and conversion rate. Their limited budget also decreases their passion.
I know website isn't the only marketing strategy for affiliates. There are also many other effective operation models.
What is your point of view on affilite marketing other than websites?

the most important way is web site and using pay per click advertising such as google adwords and Yahoo search marketing.
- affiliate marketing web site differ to other web sites:
- have more information,
- pre sell and try to attract theier readers attraction and let to merchant web site to close the sale, which is more difficult for affiliate marketer because he/she did not manager all the sale prcess.

lasgas, I do agree with you that website is the most important strategy, but it is also a long term strategy.

Maybe Affiliates can work on their website with great passions for half a year even if there weren't any rewards. They wouldn't be so patient or their conditions wouldn't permit them to spend a year's time and energy on a website which could bring him nothing.

I am affiliate manager of Shecy Pearls, I talk often with newbies in our program, Listen to their complains on how difficult it was to publish a website and make it popular. So I decided to open this threads and hope the emarketing gurus would give some clues for the newbies. help them do in the right direction.

Affiliates can also do PPC even if they don't have a website. As for our products and demographic, our affiliates can also market by the "internet social networking", blogs, articles and some fashion forums.

There must be many other ways I haven't known yet, But i am sure there must be some. And affiliates should open up their mind instead of limit it in one small website. Exploring more effective strategies according to the products or service they are promoting will get them on their way sooner and better.

- the mistake that newbie thing that affiliate marketing is the easiest way to make money online, and all what they will do is just build web site and then add affiliate links. which is totally wrong, affiliate marketer thing that to get more ebook is the soltuion and did not take action and test.
- every one have his experience and to success with affiliate marketing your first job is to get traffic and to convert this traffic to your affiliate merchant.
- test and learn every single way that help you to get traffic direct to your affiliate merchant (there are many merchant that will destroy the market because not one can ignored the scam, some times techniques problem, whic can affect affiliate marketer income)or your web site is the most important.
