Default no one seems to understand the crux of affilaite marketing

Hello ,

My name is Lalit and I have been in the online marketing industry for the past one year. I have been doing SEO on a regular basis for various clients. To cut the long story short, I am interested in developing an affiliate website and require suggestions on the same. I am quite new to this domain, however, I know how affiliate marketing works. I will be asking the questions in a chronological order:

1. Whether the site has to be dynamic (php or aspx) or static(html with some flash)?

2. How many pages shall the website contain to start with?

3. Has the keyword research specific to the products that I choose to promote?

4. My target market is UK, so I am looking for the best Affiliate Network to join with

5. The products that I will be promoting are financial services, mobiles, real estate, travel, electronics and health products.

6. Shall I go about building a single website or more than one website?

Please provide your valuable suggestions.

Thanks

Lalit,

I'll chime in on Question #6 with a simple answer

Build multiple sites, each targeted to the type of promotion you are running.

I run a food/recipe blog. I'm setting up to run affiliate ads on that blog. Do you think my readers really care about the new iPod nano? I doubt it. But they might enjoy a $250.00 Grocery gift card. They are foodies, after all.

Make each site address one topic and one topic only.

Hi Jerry,

thanx for your valuable suggestion. Don't you think that concentrating on different verticals would be a better option for someone who is starting affiliate marketing afresh. In a way one will have income flowing in from atleast one of the verticals if not all, rather than waiting for income to flow in if concentrating on one vertical.

Managing 5 websites would be lot more intense and cumbersome that managing a single website with different verticals.
