Default Amazon Affiliate

hello

Has anyone had good results with being an Amazon affiliate?

I'm thinking to create and promote an online store using Amazon. Do you think this is a good idea?

Please provide me some tips to start.

Thanks

Setting up an Amazon store can be a great way for you to do e-commerce. Basically, if you partner with Amazon, then you can sell almost anything Amazon sells. I have a few sites doing it now, and I get regular sales on a daily basis. One of the sites is OrderItOnTheWeb.com and the other is LiveWebShop.com , both are using Amazon Web Services. If you are a developer, this will take you no time at all to get started.

Hope this post helps.

Thanks,
PuReWebDev

Hi,

I have just set up a Amazon shop at our smoothie recipes website - www.flowercarole.com

Initially I had a page of selected items (smoothie makers etc) only but I have now extended this to a full blown shop with multiple categories. It has been online for three days and has had one sale so far (15p commission!!). I don't expect it to make us a fortune, but if it can increase our income (we use Adsense as well) I will be happy with the work I had to put in to set it up - four/five hours?

I would be interested to know if anyone else has had success with Amazon - the forums on the Amazon site are not very positive, but this doesn't surprise me when you look at some of the sites Amazon users have created.

I have used other affiliates in the past (Commission Junction, Trade Doubler etc) and never had any success with them. Adsense works a treat though.

I have many Amazon shops between two sites all made using Associate-O-Matic scripting and they work well. You can get the 'Lite' version free.

I haven't had much luck with Amazon but then I tend to use it as a "other resources" area. Like selling widgets and have Amazon matching products down the side of the page. Very few sales that way. Maybe I will have to get more aggressive.

Amazon tracking cookie is only 24 hours. That is why people go with eBay often, 7 days. But with Amazon, I think you can use craigslist traffic, might be better.

Adsense works best for me!

If you get international traffic - it is by far the easiest option (paste a bit of Adsense code on your page then you don;t have to worry about whether offers are in US Dollars or GBP etc)..

I gave up totally on the Amazon affiliate program. I am looking for other affiliate programs, I've seen some good sites with eBay links but I'm not sure how that all works.

I have a good experience with amazon, but I must say that with eBay you can sometime earn more money faster. I think they're paying 50% of the winning bid, and that can be a LOT more than what you get from amazon.

But why choose? Use both .....

Amazon's affiliate program is becoming more popular day by day. Though they are the most trusted website online, I've not thought of trying their program but now I'd like to give a shot..

Amazon is o.k. if people buy. I like eBay better. They tracking cookie is longer and they pay you more per each new sign up. Some commissions can be over $50 if you pick you niche market the right way

Anyone interested in creating an eBay affiliate store you can do it with wordpress blog. There is a free guide at Free eBay Affiliate Guide - Niche Training Plus Tips - Become a Successful eBay Affiliate | Niche Affiliate Marketing Tips which explains everything you need to know from promotion to the keyword optimization.
