I made alot of money promoting powweb.com until they recently stopped the program.

I think the key is to get visitors to the website that you're promoting because even if they leave, 1) if they liked the site, they will come back and 2) if they come back and buy something, the tracking cookie will catch it (unless they wipe their cookies on a regular basis) and you'll be credited for the sale.

I tried a ton of them without much success. I tried casinos, sporting goods, sports books. I tried PAS type stuff, you name it. I even developed an online dating website (edatingplanet.com) (some success). I'm finding out it pays very well to sell vitamins. I have a thread at WebProWorld about the opportunity.
It pays very well and you can find out more at my signiture url. I recommend you stick to programs that you like and keep at it. It takes a time but your investment will someday pay off.

I've had great luck with http://bluegreenfoods.com especially due to repeat business. The products are very effective and customer keep coming back. I also joined their distributor program which gives me 10% of other affiliates I sign up but it does not go into further levels.

I think one key thing that all affiliates need to remember is that regardless of the quality of the affiliate program, being successful at this requires a good amount of time and effort. You need to really *know* your audience. If a certain banner isn't working well for you, then experiment by placing it on different parts of the site. Or, you could try different banner-sizes. It takes a good while to experiment and find out what really works for your site-audience.

You're right on there! Most newbies in the affiliate business seem to give up if they don't see results right away. It's a shame because time, patiences, and persistants really pays off in the end. The one I use has a very powerful split testing system built right in it so it is easy to test two different things and change as soon as you find one isn't working. You can constatly improve your conversions. It's great, I love it!
