2. Design webpage for your selected product.

Here's an even easier way to make money with affiliate programs:

Sign up with 1-3 affiliate programs through clickbank.

Create a review website for them, giving your review of each product.

Advertise using google adwords.

It may cost money but it looks like it's working since I see ALOT of review sites promoted in google adwords. Try it and tell me if it works. I can't afford to right now.

Clickbank is very dangerous to promote as most of their programs are loaded with parasites. Also a lot of their products seem to be just eBooks, places with only 1 product. Stick with the Big 4 networks.

Sorry for the dumb question here.......but what's a "parasite?" and what is the Big 4 networks?

Never a dumb question...

Parasites steal affiliate commissions. Just do a search here for it and you should see several threads on it.

The Big 4 networks are: Commission Junction, Linkshare, Performics and Shareasale

Yep Jack knows his stuff and is right.

The big thing I would like to stress is there is NO easy way to make money with affiliate programs. It takes lots of work and skill no matter how you cut it.
Learn to do it right, through trial and error and with hard work you can possibly make really good money some day. Take short cuts or get rich quick options and you could waste precious time and money.

The biggest reason affiliates fail is they think they can make quick and easy money then give up if they don't. Don't fall into that trap.

Hope this helps and best of luck!

Default No Easy Money

Definitely agree with the crowd. The programs do work, but you must work twice as hard. Do not get sold on the golden image of doing nothing and getting money. You will have to work, you will have to work hard and you will have to be creative! There is a lot of competition out there.

I disagree with the first posters comment. In particular, you shouldn't only select high commission products. You should concentrate on QUALITY products, know what you are selling your audience by buying a copy yourself so you can provide an accurate review on both the product/service by having seen it and also undertaking thorough due diligence.

When you look to promote, make sure you are promoting products/services you are passionate about which have a combinatin of high gravity, good repour, high popularity, a good % of commission and a high % of referrals. Even if you are promoting a niche you need to ensure there is a demand to meet it with supply.

You select quality merchants, the product has nothing to do with it. Also commission isn't a huge factor. Programs that pay 2% sometimes do better than those that pay 20%.

I like the idea of creating a review site. Choose your top 5 programs, create your site and send traffic to it.

If you are thinking of promoting a product or site with the view of getting rich quick. Then I suggest you do some basic maths first. Like how much traffic can you send to the sales page and what is the conversion rate of that page (what percentage of visitors become customers).

If you don't have at least a fair idea of this then you are simply wasting your time (and money depending on how you source your traffic).

Oh and by the way, I disagree.. Not all clickbank products are loaded with parasites. Judging clickbank like this is setting you up for missed opportunity.

Some affiliate programs can make you alot of money, where some won't. I have tried a lot now and just joined up with one two weeks ago and am doing better than I had with all the other ones combined. It's east and fast, and you don't need any marketing experience.

Try either one of these and you will be a success

You definitely need marketing experience to do well at affiliate marketing. It is not easy and is very time consuming. It is also not a fast way to get money when you are starting out. It can lead to good money if you do well in the search engines, but it takes time.

True and not. Some of these programs are so well laid out for you that you do not need to know all the ins and outs,

Default Ups and down of it all

Some great info here. Thanks for the help. Affiliate marketing has been very challenging for us for more than a year now and it is certainly a case of trial and error, as mentioned above. Nonetheless with your help we keep trying new affiliates and products to find the right match for our visitors.

what alot of affilates dont realise is that they need lots of traffic to make affiliate sales. the best ways to get traffic obviously ppc, seo, myspace, articles etc etc etc.....but its the traffic that you must convert to sales....its not as easy as it looks....but once you have consistant traffic they will pour in trust me!

and I have affilate programs and they work well, but you must offer 50% - 75% commisions for them to run smoothly.

also offer incentives to your best affiliates - cash bonuses, holidays, free products if they are doing well and selling...they way you are both helping each other out.

cheers

yeah a good tip also for your affiliate commisions, is to set it at 50% or above.

I know one marketer that pays 90% WHOA! to his affliates. But he is making tons of money. Because there are more people selling.

normally 50% - 75% commision rate works well though.

And who should that be? The one you are trying to promote in your signature all over the place?

Let me tell you that I think that there are 2 best niches to earn money the most, and those are porn and gaming industry. About the latter, the most common way of earning money is through commisions by referals and by CPA. Some programs also pay a % on the players deposits, so you continue earning once you delivered the player.

Nevertheless, it's a hard work, as any other affiliate program, if you want to take really good advantage of it. If you're interested, you can visit one of the following:

Yeah earning from affiliate is easy no doubt but only when u are fully focusing on that u will have to make your site, so promising and trustworty that people shud really buy from there.

The usability, visibility and turstfactor and above all rankings on the keyphrases.

Another thing is that u shud have the deals of good merchants whose services are best in the industry..

all this contributes to earning...
