How do YOU Pick the Best Affiliate Programs???
Decided to start a poll to find out what affiliates rate as the most important consideration when evulating a new program. Please feel free to add other important issues if I missed any. I'm sure many of these are important to you, so you may want to share what order is most important in your opinion.
Come on, don't be shy. Thanks in advance for sharing your feedback with others!
NOTE: You need to be logged-in for the poll to look right and for the voting to work. Sign-up, log-on and SHARE!

I've got guess that it's an Opera compatibility issue, but from here there appears to be no way to vote. :(
But my vote goes for "product" -- if I can't sell it, nothing else matters. ;)

Hi Cedric,
You need to log-in then you can vote. I just came back and the poll on the screen looked totally different. Then I logged in and it looks normal and allows voting.
I liked your answer and was hoping you would stop by and share your expertise. Thank you!

I have never made any money on any of them. I think they all cheat you. I have been trying all of the big ones for the last 3 years and my site recives a lot of traffic. ie. Tiger direct, amizon, office Max etc. max, etc

Re: Never have made any money
CRD - Have you always worked with retail companies offering referral programs or have you worked with B2B? They tend to be much better.

The best paying program
The best paying plan I have come accross is via www.fastclick.com . If your site gets at least 100K page views a day you can make 10 to 15 bucks a day and takes zero effort.
Good luck,
Gordon

Re: Never have made any money
If all You Do Is Place Banners On Your Site You'll Never Make Any Money. You Have To Work A proper Ad Campaign, And Put Some Effort Into It. It Can Be A Full Time Job, That's The Effort I Mean.

Pick Affiliate Programs
Hello Catalyst;
Good Idea, this poll. I hope we get more than 7 votes!
I voted 'other' as I believe training and support are most important.
We advertise these programs as "Home Business Opportunities" and therefore most of the new affiliates (like myself) are new to internet marketing and need to learn everything from ground level.
A good training program will incorporate all of the aspects of products, compensation, etc and should give the affiliate a strong base with which to proceed and enable him to ask more direct questions to his upline (rather than "What do I do next"). I even know now what a 'cookie' is...sort of.
To Your Continued Success;
Randy

Interesting, no votes so far for Cookie Length or Parasite Free, is that because ultimately they both fall under Merchant Integrity or that people don't realize the effect cookie lengths and parasites can have on their earnings?
Cheers

I think no one has chosen cookie length or parasites because you can only chose one. ;)
