Default failing at this affiliate stuff need help

i dont have a website all I am is using commission junction to search for a affiliate than I am getting the link from the site that offers a descent commision that contains my acct information and going to google's adwords site and creating a ad that will advertisie the website for which i am affiliated of. The keywords I am using in the ad are being generated by adword keywords 1.0 and I am looking for words that have only 4 or less google campaigns and that fits the description of what i think people will search related to what i am trying to sell. One problem is I will get like a 100 keywords and put it into the campain but 80 of them will say on hold so I delete them and have like 20 left. I will goto google search and enter some of the keywords that have the status normal and my ad doesnt even popup. I entered my acct information and it says my ads should be effective immediately and its set to united states, cost per click is set at .10 c but for some reason i cant find my own ad that is probably why i am not getting clicks.

i also received this email

We'd like to notify you that the AdWords system has slowed the delivery
of some of your ads because one or more of your keywords isn't meeting
the minimum required clickthrough rate (CTR).

It's critical that you review your ads as soon as possible. If your
keywords continue to perform below this minimum requirement, the system
may disable them completely. Also, please note that if the system slows
your account due to low performance three times in a row, we will
charge you a $5.00 fee every third time you restore it.

can anyone take me under their wing or help me a little thanks

Default Help From A Fellow Netrepreneur

An important thing about pay-per-click advertising is making absolute sure your keywords directly relate to whatever CONTENT is immediately on your landing page(URL).

Also,if you're serious about internet marketing you will need your own website. If you're unsure about running a website, then start with a blog first. Blogs enable you to publish an almost infinte amount of webpages for FREE! As your pages increase,so does your traffic because search engines love this and rank you accordingly. For more info on blogging type the term "blogs" into the eProducts& Services Search Portal at The Netrepreneur's Blog.

As far as finding the right affiliate program, you definitely MUST read an article I wrote entitled Escaping The Matrix which should point you in a better direction.

Be sure to take heavily into account what your merchants e.p.c. is. You can end up spending alot of money for a company that doesnt convert worth a damn anyway. Study thier site. Is it easy to understand and navigate through? Does it have strong copywritting, and content? Does it offer the potential consumer some intrisic value? the question is, would you buy from this site?

Hi, acdspit00

Adwords changed the rules several months ago and only allows one ad to go to a particular site. So for the most part your ads won't show if you are linking directly to the merchant. You need to build a site and create landing pages your ads go to, instead of going direct to the merchant.

Here are a BUNCH of articles about the change and at bottom of page some tips I wrote about building a good pre-sell landing page. http://www.5staraffiliateprograms.co...affiliate.html

Hope this helps and best of luck!

why wont your ads show if their going straight to the merchant site, I thought it all mattered on what keywords you have set and the maximum cost per click, along with relevance to what your trying to sell.

I see a lot of different advice and sometimes its hard to understand it all because maybe I have to start at the basics. Basically what I have done is set up an account with commission junction and google adwords. I am a affiliate for Zonelabs a antivirus/firewall program developer. Where I am failing is not being able to keep my ad posted because it is not of good enough quality so they freeze it and right now I am at my 2nd freeze third I get penalized. Maybe it is because my max price per click is set at 5 cents. I dont know how much I should risk. I have all the same keywords under the same campaign that could be another problem, is it better to have only one group of keywords in one campaign (ad) for example
[affiliate program]
"affiliate program"
affiliate program
That way I can set different max cost per click for my keywords and find out what I should set as max by using overtures tools. I dont know if I should go more for the keywords that are more exact to what the user is looking for or maybe if its better to make the keyword more broad, but that could get bad conversions because they havent found exactly what they want. Is it a good rule of thumb to find keywords that are searched a lot but have no bids yet but than i guess it just depends on how relevant the keyword is to what you are selling. I heard I shouldnt just stop with adwords on google but it would be better to build a website or blogspot and advertise it on there first so it gives you room to presell. I really dont want to spend much money on getting a professional site done even though I heard sitebuildit is worth it I dont think I am at that level yet so free would be good, I just would have to advertise my site instead of the individual products inside. What are the best ways to advertise your site if you cant get hits by search engines (ie. email spamming) I dont have too much of a budget being in the military because we dont get paid too much :( hehe but I am willing to put some up on the table..Also if you had any other advice in money making ideas like delinquent real estate purchasing it would be great to here or maybe a referral to a forum or person that does. Thank you so much for atleast reading this and have a good day.
