2nd tier links in CJ

Hey Guys,

I'd like to refer some sub affiliates for a CJ affiliate program but I'm having trouble getting my second tier links.

I was just on the phone with CJ tech support for about 20 minutes and they said "Our software can track it, but we're not responsible for setting it up."

First I had to explain what a second tier was, then she sent me a PDF on their SmartRewards program that had some information on their link structure but didn't explain how to build a second tier link.

Does anyone have any experience with this?

If I read your question right you are an affiliate, wanting to refer other affiliates to a merchant???

If that's the case the merchant is the one that needs to set it up. You can't set it up on your side - the merchant needs to. I never see 2 tier programs on CJ. Not to say there arent some but it's very uncommon.

Okay, so I contacted the merchant and they said they created "special payment terms" for us. This means when we refer an affiliate, we get commission on their sales. This is exactly what we needed.

Now for the tracking code. We went into CJ and generated some links and got the following HTML code (not a working code):

Merchant.com

I pulled the "http://www.kqzyfj.com/click-1234567-1234567" part and stuck it in a browser and it forwarded me to http://www.merchant.com/?AID=1234567&PID=1234567

When I get here my merchant's page loads normally, so it appears to have worked, however, since we're on a CPS campain and there's no 2nd tier reporting in CJ, I will only know if it tracked anything when a sale is made.

Can anyone tell me if this is the right way to do it (or a form of the right way)?
