Please help me in joining affiliate prog for our eshop

I am from V One Multimedia singapore. We manufacture digital video editing cards i.e. video capturing / editing / NLE cards with the brand name Snazzi* and consumer electronics gadgetry i.e. TV Tuner cards, PVR with the brand name SnaZio*. Now my question is regarding our online shop www.snazzishop.com where we sell our manufactured products to US/Canada/Australian customers

1. Is it useful for us to join affiliate programs for the type of products we sell and for increasing our online shop’s sale

2. Please guide me about any affiliate program which is best suited to our e-shop and products as I am new to affiliate program and affiliate marketing

Thanks for replying promptly. The link you provided was really iformative for me. I think affiliate network like www.shareasale.com is more appropriate for us as it provides both the options of giving our manufactured products to their affiliates and we can also bring our contacts as affiliates to our site with co-branding. I am still doubtful whether an affiliate program can be beneficial for the type of products we sell i.e. Video cards and TV Tuners or not. Can you pls guide me about this and also can you please tell me any other network which has got affiliates specialized in computer and accessories selling and also inexpensive
