Affiliates,

I just recently launched a new affiliate programs directory- www.Top-Affiliate.com It's a free to list one and two tier directory. No adult or MLM type programs are allowed.

All submitted programs must provide some type of affiliate tracking in order to be added to the directory. Further submission guidelines are included with your initial registration e-mail.

Obviously, their will be no multiple program listings. You will be able to add both your affiliate/sub-affiliate URLS as well as the programs tier 1 and 2 payout amounts. The site also allows visitors to write in-depth descriptions, vote, refer, and write reviews on particular programs. In addition, if you provide a trial download of your product or service you can list that URL as well in the "Download" field.

The most popular category is weighed by unique click throughs of affiliate programs in the directory to the destination Web site and the top ranked category is weighed by individual visitor voting. Only 1 vote is allowed per IP. The site also allows members to subscribe to any particular affiliate program categories to remain abreast of new affiliate programs added to that specific category.

It's still in it's virgin state but I recommend you register and submit your affiliate and sub-affiliate URLS. Please be sure to write good descriptions of the programs you would like to promote and utilize the keyword field.

Thanks for the encouragement. Now I just need to get the word out there for affiliates to list their programs in the directory. Probably run an AdWords campaign in the very near future. That's a good niche market you have there at www.smartdraw.com.

Your affiliate directory looks great. Wanted to let you know when I signed up to add my two programs the confirmation came to my email asking me to confirm my signup and the html formatting didn't come through. It looked like one long paragraph with the html coding visible.

Great! Just reviewed your site and added it to the directory. That's a good niche market you got there too. The directory is still very new but as more merchants and affiliates post their programs and the site generates a great deal of traffic you'll be able to purchase sponsored listings, which will place your site/affiliate program at the top of the list in that category.

I've added 2 new major categories to the Top Affiliate Programs Directory: Affiliate Forums and Affiliate Directories. So far Allan Gardyne has added his services to the directory but what about you? If you own or operate either of the two feel free to list them in the directory. The listed e-mail must carry the same domain name so I know you own or operate it.

As of this post the site has over 206 pages indexed in Google and ranks in at 395,022 in ALEXA. All of you who have posted a program now have your detail page listed in Google giving you another relevant link and another reference for your site popularity. Check it out by pasting this into the Google search: site:top-affiliate.com Not too shabby for a month old site.

I'll be launching and Adwords campain in the very near future to jumpstart it some more and continue to optimize. Thanks for your feedback thus far and get listi'n!

Good stuff. Another great category would be 'Affiliate Software' or 'Affiliate Solutions'. You could have 'Affiliate Solutions' and divide this into 'Affiliate Software' and 'Affiliate Networks'.
Of course I'd very much like to get a listing at the top of Affiliate Software :) You can of course earn commission.

I'm currently working on incorporating an RSS news reader function into Top-Affiliate.com This feature will allow members to add an RSS newsfeed to their listing. Yes, this newsfeed will be viewable to anyone visiting your listing. I belive this will do wonders for your page ranking since search engines love newsfeeds. Having a regularly updated newsfeed embedded with your listing will prompt the SE spiders to index your listing(s) more frequently.

There will also be an area to add the direct RSS URL so members can upload it into their own newsreader or aggregator. I understand that many of you may not be familiar with XML RSS and the like so there will be another block where posters can upload a simple javascript code of their newsfeed. This javascript code will allow viewers wishing to carry that particular news on their Web site by simply copying and pasting the code into their Web site pages.

I'll let you know when this modification has been done. In the meantime add your affiliate programs to the directory. When this function becomes available you can modify your listing(s) by logging in and modifying your links from the "Your Validated Links" category.

Just checked my Alexa ranking for today and it jumped to 119,580 from 360K. I know this is an ever fluctuating "relative" # but that's my biggest increase margin to date. I will let you all know via the periodic newsletter and forum post when the RSS integration feature is Online.

BTW Lyle I'm waiting for you to list your affiliate software services in the directory :)

Quick Update:
While restructuring some of the directory I ran a few tests on some of my members submissions. I searched Google for Mike Merz's listing for "IM4Newbies" and Allan Allan Gardyne's "Associateprograms"; both highly popular and trafficed internet/affiliate marketing sites.

The Top Affiliate listing for "IM4newbies" ranked in at #9 out of 3,250 other sites on Google. When searching for "Associateprograms" Allan's listing within Top Affiliate came in at #6 out of 138,000 other sites on Google. Not too shabby.

I understand people may not be searching for those exact search terms since they are very specific but wanted you all to know the exposure is there though. This is not just another "affiliate directory" you post a link in and cross your cross your fingers. I work for you all which is obviously also beneficial to me.

Since the directory dynamically generates an HTML page for each listing it is important you write very descriptive program listings using good keywords for the category you have listed in. The search engines will use your listing description and title for ranking just like a regular HTML page. One or two line descriptions simply aren't enough. There is no limit to how much you can write so be creative. Be sure to use keywords that are in your description and title, not arbitrary "popular" terms. You may want to start out your title with the product or service name and then list that as your first keyword. Play around with it since you do have some control over your search engine placement.

Recent Upgrades:
You can now upload a screenshot for your listing in the directory. The image must be in .jpg format and be no larger than 400x350. You can also upload a logo in .jpg format which may be no larger than 80x60

I have added a new article management system to Top-Affiliate.com The new article management system allows my Top Affiliate Trusted Partners to update the community on news, tips, etc. within their company. In addition, each category is generated into an RSS feed so affiliates and users can carry specific news across their site. (Java also available)
