Default Vstores....comments/suggestions/opinions?? thanks :)

Hello,

I'm brand new to this whole ecommerce business. It's obvious that I have much learning to do, but I have enjoyed learning immensely and am determined to make internet marketing a success on this end! After carrying a city route for the Postal service for years and working years as a casemanger for mental health clients, this is like a breath of fresh air to go into a different line of work! To begin, I would like to try selling through commission work from Vstores. Has anyone tried this affiliate, and if so, could you please share your views? Any other recommendation on the "where to start" would be appreciated as well. The information on marketing via the web is overwhelming and I never realized that so much goes into the advertising! I have already chosen and created my stores through Vstore and have submitted to a few search engines, the DMOZ, and a few directories. Any other advice would be welcomed. This site seems to have so much to offer and I will be learning through the forums as well. Thanks so much for your time and wishing each and everyone success in their business!

Lollyann

Hi Lollyann,

Welcome to the forums. I hate to tell you this but I have not heard good things about Vstore. DISCLAIMER this is just info I have read on forums and it may not be accurate.

Here is a search I did for you where you can read some direct feeback from affiliates.

Their prices seem to be high compared to others. They do have a good sitebuilder though with variations of templates.

My recommendations are look at some of the affiliate networks such as commission junction and 5 star affiliate programs of course, find some niche programs you like and begin by testing them by using adwords, Findwhat or Overture. You don,t have to wait on getting listed in the SEs only to find out you have a poor program.

And of course work on your own sites also. Some people might disagree but this has worked for me.

Thank you Linda and cjshu!

My gosh...a newbie like me wouldn't have had a clue to the bad reports if you hadn't directed me to the forum discussing Vstore and what a time waster it is. I can't thank you enough. In the meantime, I'll check into the 5 star affiliate programs.

Just starting out and wanting to learn, I'm wondering if anyone is willing to be a "mentor". I know people learn by mistakes (and I'm sure I'll make plenty), but it's also a good idea to take advice learning from others mistakes as well. In the meantime, I'll continue to learn from the boards here. :)

Default Vstores-comments, suggestions, opinions

Hello Lolly Ann:
I am a Newbie on this site but have been working with affiliate programs since 1998 which has really been quite a learning experience. I had signed up with Vstores a few years ago and was enthused about the attractive templates, easy set-up, etc. However, the problem is that their commission structure is VERY LOW. In some instances, they pay only 2% to 10%. I had a toy store and the commission at that time was only 8%. I made a couple of small sales but then gave it up as it took a great deal of time and effort to reach the $50 payout level at that rate of commission.

Look for affiliate programs that pay at least 20%-30%and that pay monthly. Do not get bogged down with those that pay quarterly because if they go out of business, you have worked at least 90 days for FREE.

Also be sure you can check your stats daily to see how much traffic you have received, who signed up and how much is owed to you.

Best of luck to you.

When I first started out in earning money from Affiliate Marketing I joined a few programs. One of them was vStore. I agree to cjshu as I found that I did not receive any sales as their prices where not competitive with their competitors.

Mind you I was new to the concept of affiliate marketing, so I could have been doing it all wrong then.
