Default Becoming an overture affiliate

I see many small websites who have overture paid listings as an affiliate. But when I goto overture to join as an affiiate their website states your website must receive over 1million unique visitors a month.

I know these websites do not receive this kind of traffic. How do I get an account? Besides getting over a million unique visitors per month?

Is there something I'm missing or overlooking?

Well I guess you have a good point. Its just an odd feeling I get when I visit some of these websites. I get the feeling they are smaller websites.

Just join through CJ. I did a long time ago and don't even promote them but I'm still in and I sure don't get that kind of traffic.

I think on their site they are talking about another type of affiliation - you need 1 million visitor to disply thier ads on your site for a revshare of clicks.

You don't need that kind of traffic to be a regular affiliate through CJ.

Default cool

Cool thanks, I started the process but I didn't complete the process. I'm going to wait until I get a website up and running first.

Default overture

I joined to become a member of overture but it seems I only get the ability to promote the Overture Program to advertisers. I don't see anywhere about XML or any search feeds? Im I crazy, or do they not allow that kind of affiliate through CJ?

If you're wanting to display Overture search results at your own private label search engine ... you will need more than a million visitors ... you need a million searches ... that's before they even consider you.

Like yourself, I know several private label search engines that I feel certain would not have that level of activity. But they may have joined early on before the requirements were so tough or perhaps they have dozens or hundreds of sites that together enable them to qualify.

Years ago Overture has a search box anyone (regardless of traffic) could place on their site and get paid a penny per search (or was it per second click?)

Anyways, though the program still exsist, they no longer accept new affiliates.

I'm not familiar with the program thru CJ but most PPCs have one willing to pay anyone who can drive new advertisers to their site.

: )
