Default ClickBank

I noticed no one has mention becoming a member of ClickBank.com, has anyone had any experience with this? I have looked at their site, just recently because I have four sites that I would like to recruit affiliates for.

Does anyone have any advice for someone looking to start their own affiliate program? I am also building a site full of my college papers that I plan to monetize with AdSense. Any thoughts on this? My thinking is because I have so many papers on so many different subjects, all highly focused on a topic, that with a little optimization they should get some traffic. Any views as to whether my AdSense monetization may succeed or fail?

Hi Andy,

I had never dealt with Clickbank so can't give you any advice other than do some research first. It has it's share of negative buzz. I don't know about the costs for CB, but I always recommend www.shareasale.com for a low cost network. Definately the best choice.

Am using ClickBank to track e-commerce sales. Currently looking at Conversion Ruler because of a lack of ROI information. CB is very simple for our needs but not sure that this is what you are looking for.

Hi Atimmins,
If you are looking for a low cost affiliate network similar to Commission Junction but not as pricey, I would agree that ShareaSale.com is one the best affordable network programs. If you are looking for the most cost effective program, I would suggest licensing the software to run the program and using an in house program provider such as DirectTrack.com or MyAffiliateProgram.com. These are much less expensive than any network program. However, they do require more time from the affiliate program manager as you will have the do all the recruiting and promoting yourself.
Our company is currently using MyAffiliateProgram through which we run our programs for home improvement, insurance, and financial websites. If you would like to discuss our experience with MyAffiliateProgram, I'd be happy to answer any questions that you may have. Please send me a private message to discuss that particular program.
If you're looking to join any programs, please feel free to review our program. Your site www.everycontractor.com looks like a great match for our program.

Hi Atimmins,

I use ClickBank as well. Had no problems and I get my checks on time, at the beginning and the middle of the month. Sales tracking is very basic - they could improve on this.

There are many payment and affiliate systems on the net. ClickBank is easy to join. I also use CJ, LinkShare, StormPay, PayPal and others. I believe it's about giving your visitor a choice. I have not tried ShareSale - I will also give them a try. Some products or services just work better with the one or the other.

Touch wood - I have not had any bad experiences. I suggest you give them a try and see for yourself.

The only thing I do not like about CB is the inactivity charge. This means that if your account has not been active then it will deduct certain amount from your credits.

Most internet marketers swear by Clickbank because it offers an easy plug-in to set up your own affiliate program to recruit affiliates. Only digital or information products (like ebooks) are allowed, where your customers would pay you and simply download your product.

It's free to open an account. But it costs a fee of $49.95 if you want to setup a seller account to sell your own product. No monthly fees but each sale is charged 7.5% + $1.

I have been using it for over a year and have no major complaints except to say that the control interface could do with more user-friendliness.

Be careful with ClickBank. You have to make sales from 4 different states or countries or they won't pay you at all.

Some of their rules seem silly to me. You have to make sales from 4 states or countries or else you're not paid? What if you only have a regional based site and only get local traffic? Many of our partners target specific states in the US. We would never withhold payment due to leads not being from 4 or more states. Also, why would you have an inactivity charge? I have seen other networks do this as well. Since we have our own in house program that just seems strange to me and I do not understand why networks would want to do that.

I don't know ANYTHING about ClickBank except I signed up with them years ago and put up a link SOMEWHERE on one of my sites for SOME program of theirs.

And I also know, about twice a year, I get a check (about $10.00) from them -- and when I moved and a check was returned to them because of the bad mailing address, they took the time to hunt me down and get an updated address.

They don't have the type of program I generally promote, but the fact that I still get checks a couple of times a year for such piddling amounts and that they made the effort to hunt me down... well, I think that says SOMETHING positive about their management and integrity. ;)

Default Affiliates Alert software

atimmins -

About Click Bank. Let me tell you about a little ClickBank Search Engine software program that you can use as a virus to give away to your visitors and make money. It's called "Affiliates Altert" and the software will automatically add your ClickBank nickname to ClickBank's 10,000 or so programs.

Here's the url to get a free copy of Affiliates Alert. http://www.affiliatesalert.com

To get your nickname added to Affiliates Alert you have to join the service, and it's not expensive.

Also, just below is a link to an ebook that will tell you how to use Affiliate Alert to make money with ClickBank programs. Check it out.

The ebook is titled (appropriately enough), "How to Make Money with Affiliates Alert" by Charlie Page.

http://www.AffiliatesAlert.com/Affil...ert-Report.pdf

(I hope the PDF will open.)

And by the way, ClickBank does have a lame requirement that says you have to sell at least 3 or 4 different affiliate programs before you can begin receiving affiliate checks. It doesn't matter where they are purchased. But, if you only sell two or three programs you can still get your money after - I think it's either 60 or 90 days - of inactive sales. Make sure you let them know you want your money after 60 days of no sales because they will start deducting money from your inactive account.

The good thing about ClickBank is their refund policy. Every product they list has a refund policy and they are very efficient about returning your money in about seven days if you don't like what you bought. No questions asked.

I use Clickbank now for over 3 years as an affiliate. I also have sold my own products through their system and never had any problems. You will get checks twice a month. I can highly recommend them.

All the best

I have also good experiences with Clickbank. They pay on time and is very easy to promote new programs, having a clickbank id.

I use also CBMALL as search engine for clickbank products, as their own portal is very limited.

If you have own products, Clickbank is an easy way to promote and get affilates willing to make marketing for you (as long as you pay good comissions (;-)).

There are also several products using Clickbank as an engine (CBClicks, CB-top, 1St Promotion).
