Default Bye-Bye Gator - Hello Claria

Don't let the name change fool you. It's still just a wolf dressed in sheep's clothing IMHO!

Gator sheds skin, renames itself

Gator, the controversial advertising software and e-wallet company, has changed its name to better reflect its business in behavioral marketing.
The Redwood City, Calif.-based company plans to provide more details Thursday of its decision to adopt a name that better reflects its other businesses. The name change to Claria, however, is already reflected on Gator’s Web site.

What do you think? Will a name change really help change anyone's opinion of this company???

Claria makes me think of clarity. Would make a great name for Acne Medication - but no way it's going to "clear up" Gator's reputation.

HA! A name change. So now all my computer illiterate customers that finally learn after 2 years not to install any products with Gator in the name will now spend another 2 years figuring out what claria is.

Great.

That just shows that noone at that company has morals. They are purely in it for the dollar.

Hilarious - I can just see some big corporate meeting, all heads of departments discussing the roll out of the new name and someone says, "Uh while we're at it, we better buy clariasucks.com before someone else does."

So, I guess the new business model when everyone hates you is - change your name. Funny.

Not changing mine,

Default I tried...

I went to CLARIASUCKS.COM and got a generic "comming soon" that promptly loaded 5 pops to my browser. One was the infamous "clock problem". New name, old dog, old tricks.

peace...Paul
