Finding advertisers and products to sell on a web site
I was just hired as an intern (part time) by a company that has automotive web sites. The main site ranks very high on all search engines and maintains a defined and receptive alternative car audience.
All sites are regularly visited and receive daily inquiries from consumers, dealers and others seeking information. They maintain other data bases and have assisted hundreds of thousands of North American's stay informed and knowledgeable regarding the cars.
Their websites receive 100,000 unique visitors, has a twelve thousand opt-in subscriber's newsletter, with an open rate and click through ratio of over fifty percent, along with thousands of other records geared to alternative cars.
They have a survey site with almost 4000 registered members who have taken the survey. (iwantasmartcar.com)
Also have an automotive classified site that gets plenty of traffic.

For years they focused on the promotional sector of an alternative car that is after many years soon to be available in the U.S. For whatever reasons, they never went after paid advertisers or tried to sell space on the sites.
We recently placed Google Ads on the sites and in less than 8 months have got 1,700,000 page impressions with over 100,000 clicks. Last month their Google revenue was over $2,000.00.
I have several questions perhaps someone can answer?
First what is the best way to fine honest and reliable companies that have related products to sell? How can I find advertisers that are complementary to the sites?
How could I quickly and economically get the automotive classified site populated?
What would be the best and most profitable approach for all concerned to get advertisers or associates to sell their related products on our sites?
What would be a fair price for the advertisers and what would be a reasonable percentage for companies selling their products?
Any help anyone can offer would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Mickey
