Selling Site Wide Text Links for $5.00
Hi all,
Im re-designing one of my political websites and am getting rid of
some excellent link space. These links will appear sitewide at the lower
left box of every page. These are SE friendly tex links. I am selling the links
for $5.00 a month or three months for $12.00.
View the website here:
Washoe Conservative Coalition
Please reply via PM or here on the forums.
Warm Regards,
Eric

Sorry, no offence intended, just wouldnt want to limit the customer base of my company by having a link on a party political site (whether or not i personally support or despise that party). So I was pointing out to others that although the site has good PR, it is heavily conservative and pro-republican, which is something people would need to consider, as it could adversely affect their business.
As for whether or not a comment is 'needed'. Comment is never needed but without comment forums like this one would not exist. Also to comment that a comment is not needed is to contradict oneself and risk hypocrisy, as surely others can judge the value of a comment for themselves.
My statement also left room for you to reply with a list of sites you own that are not so politically orientated., but with a similar level of PR.

Well I somewhat disagree with you. If you made a post that said "I need a logo design" I would not reply "I make banners".
In this case, I run a political website, you either do want to exchange links, or you do not. It would be one of the two. You do not like my political views, so you are going to make it clear how you feel. That to me is completely unrelated to this post. I asked for link exchanges, not political reviews.
Anyone can look at the website and see for themselves what it is about. That is why I put a link there.

Getting back to the original post.. I don't see any problem selling links to any "Republican", "Democrat", "Independent" or any other kind of Site except those that are prohibited in the bi-laws here including porn.
I see no reason to play partisan roles in this forum.

My point was, "I would buy a link if it wasnt republican" i.e. if you have a different website, let me know i would be interested in a similar deal, sorry if this was not clear. I have nothing against any political group, my worry was that by having a link on such a heavily affiliated site would deter customers, that is all.

Thanks for clearing that up. I guess we will just let the visitors decide. I have several advertisers who are quite happy with the rank and traffic that I pass down through those links. Advertising on this site is not for everyone, but for those who want to, a $5.00 site wide on a 4/10 site is pretty good I would think. I would pay it and do on several other sites.

Yeah $5 is definitely a good price considering what some of those text link ads sites charge.

What's Considered Good Traffic - Buy Worthy?
I'm sorry if this has been answered a million times in other posts or forums, but I'll ask it nonetheless:
What is considered good traffic before you offer space for sale? Alexa Reach Rank, Google PR, x number of daily visitors, page views ....

million dollar question
Thats the million dollar question.
A lot of link buyers are concerned only with page rank, (they want a higher ranking in search engines)
Some want traffic from sites that they think have visitors that will but their products. This group will buy virtually anything if the page is right - If you had a page that has ten hits a day selling chicken soup kits. . Somebody selling Chicken soup bowls will want to be on it . . .
Some advertisers want to place casino ads in as many places that get lots of traffic for as cheap as they can find.
You just can not tell who will be looking for what..
If you have space to sell . . list it.
I place more paid ads on obscure pages than I do on my busier pages. Some sites cannot help but attract ads, some sites people totally ignore. The rest of us get 'not much as we would like'.

Million Dollar Reply
Thanks - that makes perfect sense! Glad to see common sense (and maybe a bit of optimism) continues to prevail, albeit rare. Thanks for the reply, it was clear, concise and hopeful :)
