Default Dreamweaver and validators is built in.

Did you know that Dreameweaver MX 2004 has built in validators, like an XML validator? This checks for welformedness if the document has no DTD, and for welformedness and validity if a DTD is specified.

File menu + Check Page
for:
  • Accessibility
  • Links
  • Target Browser
  • Validate Markup.
  • Validate as XML

I haven't used Dreamweaver since 2001. But it looks just great now.

Thanks for sharing this info Kjell.

Can this Dreamweaver version convert table-based pages to tableless CSS?

John, I do not know. Dreamweaver is a so large IDE, that we need education at an University to use it efficiently. The learning curve is steep. My son and I experimented by integrating it with Flash some months ago. You will not believe it before you see it.

You can try Flash (and Dreamweaver) free for a month. I personally do not need Flash now. But, Dreamweaver is a necessity.
