Default ie6 shutting down???

Hello all,

I have a bizarre thing happening. One of the sites I have been using for years shuts down my ie browser whenever I try to access it (the web site). This isn't happening anywhere else. Even if I surf to the site, once I click on a link thats supposed to take me there, internet explorer closes. Its weird. I went to my other computer where I use mozilla and it accesses the site fine with that browser.

Does anyone have any idea why this would be happening. I've tried everything I can think of but am stumped. Any input would be very much appreciated.

thanks
Shell

Default I used to have that happen...

I used to have that happen at Nascar.com. It had to do with the version of Java that I was using. Once I went and got the upgrade, it was fine up until I switched to FireFox. Then I really never had an IE problem. ;-)

Brian.

Default ie6 shutting down???

Thanks Brian,

I checked that out and I have the latest version of java. I really don't understand this. I've tried everything I can think of. I would change to mozilla but I run about 14 websites and don't want to mess with display etc. The majority of my customers still view my sites with ie.

thanks anyway for your attempt.

What's the site in question?

If it's a site-specific issue, the most likely cause is that the site itself is either poorly/excessively coded or requires a plugin (e.g. the Java plugin brian.mark was talking about) that takes a lot fo resource.

Default problem solved

Hello All,

I discovered that a program I use called Ad-Watch SE Pro (It comes with Ad-Aware SE) was blocking my attempts to visit this site and shutting ie down.
Thus problem solved.

thanks for all your help.

As long as you just got the a and i mixed around then it's no problem. I do that on purpose sometimes, and that is still on my Blockbuster Video card (3 tries, still wrong). ;-)
