Over here in the UK I think British Home Stores (BHS) spent about 6 Million UK Pounds to change their older dull shop logo, they have a lot of shops... This has proved well worth the investment.
Think Brand image.. think coke bottle shapes, Burger signs, etc... Think LOGOS.
If you have the cash to spent, spend it on this. You may avoid the Tax people getting it.
