I,ve often thought about this, do you think the fact that it's on yahoo's servers or at least appears to be connected to their alexa rating/page rank/back links and traffic will benefit more to those linked to the subsite than if the site was just a stand alone site with little page rank and no connection to their high traffic hosts?
I have noticed lots of small sites like this on aol-hometown etc,which have a high alexa rating due to their host. I was thinking of offering a reciprocal link to these sites, would I get the benefit of their hosting sites
PR & back links.
ie Will these links to my site count as a vote/link from the relevant host ie yahoo,aol etc??
I might carry out a little experiment and offer a few links solely to sites like this and see what effect it has on Alexa ranking,
PR and position of my site on google etc.
Any views from anyone who has previous experience on this matter would be much appreciated.
