Back then I was doing it using (for example) Atari systems :)

I can remember when disk drives started to become affordable and the usual crowd of Luddites would write to the magazines DEMANDING that the published software (or cover-cassettes) remain cassette-based.

Things haven't changed much, really, have they? (E.g. 'You MUST design for 640x480, 16 colours, text-only browsers').

<edit: And what about Peek and Poke using BASIC? What fun that caused when new memory addresses became used in upgraded OSs - no backward compatibility then.>
