I have a weird problem. A few years ago, I used a company that ran and host my site. I bought my domain name myself at that time so they said I would need to forward it to there domain.
http://www.gnarlyparts.com went to
http://etxpas.simplyonline.com/homepage.cfm . They wouldn't give me there DSN numbers so I couldn't use my domain. I ended up just doing a forward.
I promoted that site with my URL "www.gnarlyparts.com". It was going slowly at the time and to make a long story short I dropped them after a few months and designed my own site with my own server. Now if you go to
www.gnarlyparts.com it goes to my site.
I check with Alexa recently and if you enter
www.gnarlyparts.com it still points to the old host. The thing that scares me is I lost a bunch of listings on Google recently and I know Alexa is powered by Google. If you enter the search terms "Gnarly Parts" I come up but it shows my old site.
You think I got penalized for the forward? I use to rank well with Google for important keywords but am no longer in the top 100. My
PR use to be 4 now it’s 1. I rank well with Yahoo and MSN. I contacted the first hosting company to try to get them to remove my old site but they never reply.
Thanks
Dave
